    I like the quote I've read of a frustrated crafter. I'm paraphrasing here since I can't remember the exact words but it was something along the lines of

    You people looked at the money we were making and thought "I want that" but you didn't want to put any of the effort in. Now you got your wish, they made it easy, they made it just like you wanted. What you forgot to think about is that it was profitable because it was scarce. I don't care anymore, I made more gil than I could ever spend... but you will not. Because if everyone can do it then it is worthless.

    This could've been inevitable, even with the old system, we'll never know. But the rework to crafting accelerated what might have taken another year or two to a few months.
