should i get rtx 3090 or rx 6900xt to play ff14?

i basically just want the best card available to play ff14 on the highest setting possible on 4k and finally donate to square enix by buying mog station items. bruh. i went to computer store and said "i need to play ff14" and they're building it. amd ryzen 9 5900x 12 core/24 thread, gigabyte x570, g skill ripjaws v series 32GB, corsair rmx series rm1000x 80 plus platinum, sn750 i TB PCIe Gen 3 x4 NVMe m.2 2280 no idea what this is lollll

just a question tho computer store recommended rapture gt-rx11000 router is this good enough to play ff14?? and rtx 3090 or rx 6900 xt?

It's recommended to get the 5950x. Those stick of ram you have better be clocked at 4266hz or higher else it's going to be slow af. As we all know ram speed helps a lot.

1000w psu isnt going to cut it these days since you'll need to be running 2x 3090 in sli.

You'll also need to have a custom built closed loop liquid helium cooling system like the rest of us.

Oh yeah also forgot to mention that you'll want 2x 2tb nvme sticks running on raid 0

I have this same exact build and unfortunately I only get 26 FPS. If you don't mind the 4 FPS Loss, you can really take in the beauty of the Pixels on Hiens outfit.

Are you planning on streaming?

Anything more than AMD ryzen 5 5600x which is 6 core 12 threads is a waste if all your doing is gaming. Most games don't benefit from more cores
6/12 threads are a lot for background tasks + games. I currently have an AMD 5 3600 + 1080ti ultra-wide 3440x1440 max settings I'm above 60 FPS basically all content.

It sometimes dips into the 50s some of the Bazjan Front. With 40+ and a lot of AOE.

Why the best card for FFXIV? its a 7 year old game. You should be looking forward (as with all tech)

IMO computer store people are milking you with unnecessary tech. for instance if im reading this you are getting 4 250gig NVME... when you could get 1 1tb nvme and save yourself $50 bucks.



In the end its mostly just preference for your average and even enthusiast gamer whether to take AMD or Intel ... With that being said, a 3090 is wayyyy overkill and you would be fine with a 3080 and save about $900.
