    MP next to go with 6.0 maybe?

    Since the TP system has gone the way of the dodo will we see MP follow? Its only real use is forcing lucid dreaming on cool down and as a rez punishment. The devs already remove refresh and ewers changed. I highly doubt TP is coming back but will MP be a thing of the past? They certainly could change rez to have charges so it still has limits.

    so you ignored all the responses in your thread in the DPS forum that explain why this isn't happening, specifically that Black Mage exists?

    I'd rather every job gain a use out of MP. Every job is using aether, those abilities could be integrated into using MP.

    BRD songs, MNK fists/riddles, etc. could all use MP as a resource and replenish their own MP through normal play - no real changes to the gameplay but rather a symbolic move or representation.

    Funny you mention this, BRD songs used to cost MP, and in 1.23 MNK's Fist of [Element] used to drain MP every attack while giving bonus damage or defense.

    My thread? You have a link? When did I ever post in the dps section? Black Mage can get reworked anyways. Probably needs one for 6.0. doubt adding a 3rd stack and some Ogcd is gonna be where the devs land on blm for 6.0.

    my bad, had you mistaken for someone else in my pre-coffee haze. but here's the thread with a decent bunch of reasons why MP won't go anywhere without massive revamps of the casting classes: https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...cally-infinite

    it doesn't touch on DRK or PLD either, both of which also use it to limit how much of their highest damage stuff they can do.

    They barely use it. I'd rather MP have more wide spread uses but right now its uses is limited just like TP was, and well it didnt go fine for the TP system. Maybe 6.0 will add more complexity to MP or maybe it'll be its death.

    In game theory we learned that cool down effects are a band-aid solution and don't address the real issues with the game play. I never did play Diablo but I remember how Diablo was used as an example if that makes sense to anyone. I don't think that they can fundamentally change the game mechanics this late in the game either so I think both MP and cooldowns are here to stay. They might not be present in their next iteration of FFMMO depending on their approach. You don't want instant attacks all the time but you also don't want the game to feel too slow (RP-based MMO) or too fast (slasher MMO). They have the resources to experiment though, good luck to them! lol

    I thought the same thing about TP and its gone now. I never said anything about cooldowns and this would be a completely different game without cooldowns. Cooldowns definitely aren't going away, maybe changes and additions thou.
