some of mine include, in no particular order:

    - stats will still be implemented in large units that require heavy stacking mostly of one stat to get a noticeable difference

    - the rate of progression remains the same

    - PL still exists in its current form

    - the game gets popular and they refuse to implement an AH, which although the current MW's work good enough(?) the way they are, would be a nightmare if the game had 10x as many players or more

    - lower level content is still trivialized (quests, missions, leveling, equipment yada yada)

    - zone redesigns are a lot less innovative than we imagine

    - latency, UI, system

I guess I could go on but I felt I should stop there.

Yeah... i'm afraid that constant "scared-troll-that-are-afraid-of-every-possible-outcome" spam in threads like this one will make it look like its time to make another Abyssea and ruin the game just so they stop complaining and achieve everything in one day...

Its not as bad yet, but it sure gets closer to it every patch...
Already at least 10x faster than it was in 2010... but ppl still constantly cry about how game is grind and how they dont want to craft... So for those who dont like the game and have multiple fears just go play something you like and stop flooding the forums with useless threads. I dont understand how crying on forums and talking about things you might-not-like-if-they-would-be-implemented-someday is more fun than actualy closing internet explorer and enjoying other game instead, leaving forums clean and useful for those who actually love the game.

You mean you don't understand why SE would want to appeal to the mass market and try to make lots of money? It's either profitable FFXIV or goodbye FFXIV so take your pick. Oh and sorry to dispel some people illusions but a grindy FFXI experience is not going to make SE money, and its all about the money in reality.
Maybe you love grindy MMO's good for you, but you have to realise that you are in the minority and the minority doesn't get to dictate to the majority very often, especially when wallets are involved.

What goes on in the forums stays in the forums.

No one is asking for a "grindy game", we just want an even, fleshed out experience filled with tons of mid game content that requires effort and skill to traverse, instead of a game that's nothing more than a rush to endgame with tiered raids (Which is what the game currently is)

Well it sure looks like Im a minority, cause everyone else in this forum is crying about things that didnt even happen yet lols
Im just an old-school FF series fan that enjoys the sense of achievement no matter how "grindy" it is, as long as its FF and its challenging im happy. While the rest of the "majority" is lazy kids who like to cry a lot instead of playing. My point was "if you are bored enough to make up your own possible reasons that may or may not actually happen in the future to cry about in forum maybe you should go play something else?" just saying...

Are you sure those here who are okey with spending time levelling are in the minority? I'm not sure I saw any accurate poll done.

Also, is the rate of levelling now (which is, to be honest, very fast, especially for a FF game) really worth describing as a 'grind'? Couple with the fact, if embraced fully, is actually an opportunity to meet new people and interact with them and make future allies (again a theme in FF).

Anyways, I'm still sticking with my two fears:
-- People will still find something to endlessly complain about
-- The vocal few will insist that this world be put on permanent easy mode and made like other worlds out there.

    Grind is a relative term....

    but..

It took 6 months of leveling 6-8 hours a day to even get to do this fight....

People might complain about the amount of time needed... but they'd do it.. damn it even the most casual players would be out leveling their hearts out...
