Yes~ I just said I need an emotional safety net for this game. Cause after the mess were put through at launch, I think we need it.

    Oh the standing.
If they want an example of NPC life done right, they should look no further than Xenoblade Chronicles. Althought that game's single player, it gets a lot of cues from MMOs. I know that single player is what makes it possible to have NPCs stop to talk to you, but that could be done in an online game by making NPC position and motion client-side: to everyone else, it would just keep walking.

The thing I'm a bit worried about is how they'll handle map exploration with regards to existing characters. If the map needs to be traveled to be drawn (or maybe bought to get a full version faster?), what will happen with all the aetherites we've already visited? I can imagine camps having the same names, but newly positioned, but would it make sense to allow people to quick-travel to things they haven't really visited yet but at the same time have?

I think I'd like to know what exactly is going to happen with that so that I can get a clear idea of whether there's still a purpose to continue exploring or if I should just stop wasting my time and energy and focus on some other aspects of the game.

I think that if there was walking and lively nameless NPCs who walked around. They should be smart enough to say, "High traffic area! Time for digital suicide." and just disappear if too many people surround them. You know, to ease up that server burden.

Cause if you remember that little E3 demo in 2005, I see NPCs talking, walking, even doing high fives.

Hell, I wouldn't mind hunters in the surrounding wooded area in Gridania occasionally popping up in the background.

Considering they said they want to do more frequent level cap raises (1-2 years IIRC), I doubt it would go stratight from 50 to 75. Probably 5 or 10 at a time.

Also, another fear... if the woods is still a heavily clunked up maze where 85 monsters will look at you and say, "Haha, why you come down here boy?!"

Yeah, I hope they don't wipe our gates clean from us, just give us the outline of each camp, and let us explore from there.
Hopefully they will kill the unneeded 90+ monsters so we don't have to go exploring and bam, killed in one hit from a place we never explored before. I mean, sure I want to bring a party of folks to explore maps with, maybe 8 adventurers, but if I need a whole damn armada to fight our way through 30 level 80s, then forget it.

Oh look, yet another person who has no idea what they signed for or what 2.0 is. I must say I am *shocked*. Not. Seriously I am kinda surprised how much of the community is completely clueless on the matter. They should've given 2.0 a new title altogether so ppl wouldn't be so confused.

I'll make it very simple. 2.0 is FFXV. Basically. Its a new game, but its based off of this game. Repeat after me: Its. A. New. Game. You really have to understand this concept to get all the "coming in 2.0" answers. Its not FFXIV with a new engine and stable servers: its. a. new. game. It bears repeating cuz so many ppl fail to realize it.

With that said, we are paying them to work on 2.0. Why in the hell would I want them to waste time trying to implement new ideas in this game, when they are supposed to be putting the majority of the work in the new game. I dont know about you, but I could care less about the game we have. They are scrapping it. Why anyone wants them to waste time implementing new ideas/mechanics is BEYOND me.

It wasn't *that* bad...just a touch of opening sarcasm lol. But really I do tire of that complaint...and I always tend to run into it.
