I'm kind of bummed out when it comes to the 180-Floor Boss in POTD

Was playing Gunbreaker and I was putting my all into it only to get lagged to hell when it summoned meteors and I ended up panicking trying to defeat it quickly only to have my hopes dashed away.

    I really hate this boss.

But honestly I hate the timer more because how much it works against Tanks compared to the other roles. If the timer was like at least 70 minutes that would give enough breathing room in my opinion just in case the floors decide its your time to fail (nasty debuffs every other floor when it wants to do so).

Really this is killing my spirit how many attempts I've been at this soloing the past couple years; I don't know if I was even meant to beat it.

I'm going to make one last ditch effort with MCH and DRK and just pray for the best; I just wanted to vent my frustration at this point since I think I'll hang my hat if this fails as well.

Should I at least try PLD just because of the longer lasting Buffs or should I try Warrior for the better DPS? Is Dark Knight too risky?

I have never tried POTD solo, but I have thought about running it as RDM. I wish I had advice for you. I'd personally go as PLD for the damage mitigation and also bring along food to beef up your DPS a little. But that's just my opinion. I just wanted to say that I have faith in your ability to clear it and I know you can do it

"We want Viera!" -- OK! ✅
    "We want Cloud's motorcycle!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Blue Mage!"-- OK! ✅
"We want the ability to earn past Feast rewards!" - HAHA no that's sacred.

PLD is much, much easier for 180 than GNB, although both have it a lot harder than RDM, SMN, and MCH.

WAR is actually really slow period, outside of its berserk windows it does less damage for PoTD than DRK. Your only two options if you're looking for a practical tank clear that doesn't take some expert level shenanigans are PLD and GNB.

MCH is so much better for PoTD that it's unreal. The 180 boss takes some practice to get down, but one of the best pieces of advice I ever heard for the burst phase was to focus on healing above all else. MCH does a lot of burst damage, and as long as you survive (make sure sustaining potions are rolling at all times, and use second wind and a super potion after the first meteor even if it makes you clip) and hit all your buttons (reassemble drill, wildfire, hypercharge, 1, 2, 3, drill, and the 1, 2, 3 might not even be required; the second hypercharge is much more important) you have enough damage to beat him. You don't even need to use OGCDs, although those obviously help; it's more of a side note if your ping is really bad. You should definitely create a macro to drop food as well, as food makes the amount of health a potion heals a bit higher, so use the macro after popping a super potion. Food is absolutely not required, though; as a matter of fact, if you don't drop your food buff, you actually can't heal enough health to survive the second meteor, so if you're not confident in your situational awareness, it might be best to forego food for 180 entirely.

RDM gives you a less technical clear for 180 but every floor after it is much harder and requires more pomander use. I've never cleared it as SMN (only mch) but I've heard it's the third easiest job for it.

    Good luck.

    As a side note,
Make sure NOT to stand infront of him during last phase! - He does still auto attack during meteors, very hard at that

PLD's biggest strength is Clemency, but that just slows down your kill. WAR is not a good choice, due to lack of oGCDs and lack of Inner Release. DRK is an OK choice, but to beat the 180 floor, you need to Living Dead through the second meteor and never disengage, using CDs to mitigate the auto attack that comes between them. You also have to have 5 vuln stacks from a Lust Pomander up, and near to full MP to get the requisite burst. And obviously a Raising pomander to get back up after the behemoth is dead and you drop dead as well.

Beyond that, you have to learn the spin exploit, which is hard to perform 100% of the time without a lot of practice on it. If you can spin the Behemoth, you can prevent it from casting meteor for longer and sometimes outright, but yeah... you'll have to learn the exploit well enough to pull it off reliably.

As far as soloing goes, it's just hard regardless of what you go on. Even the jobs rated as S-tier by guides have a difficult time in the deep floor sets without pomanders or exploits. It's also worth noting that the 190 boss is no picnic either. If you get clipped by any AOE you freeze solid and die. When the bomb adds spawn in the midst of cluster bombs, you better have something to burst the add down afterwards cause you won't just be able to get damage since you'll get frozen.

    Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.

Only if they should be getting a commendation.
