I've always been curious how Au Ra reproduce. The sexual dimorphism between the two genders make it less than practical, if not impossible using conventional methods.

.....Why? Humans of varying heights can get it on just fine.

Are their offspring born alive, or do they lay eggs for males to fertilize like other reptilian species?

Given that they can interbreed with the other Spoken races (a sidequest in the Ruby Sea mentions a Hyur/Au Ra hybrid in the distant past), it's safe to say that they birth live offspring like everyone else.

Ruby Princess sidequest. Hyurs and Au Ras be banging and reproducing. Unless the Hyur are also in on this clandestine reproduction habit, it's gonna be conventional fat with child pregnancies!

Aura could be Monotremes, so an egg birth, with the hatched puggles feeding breast milk. Very similar to a platypus or echidna. To add weight to this, monotremes lack nipples just like all of us in FF do.
