Pet command "heel" not working?

Hello,
I'm not really sure what's going on, but I'm pretty sure the pet command "heel" isn't working? (I also swear it used to be called Obey but I'm not sure...) Or at least, it doesn't seem to be. I'll click heel and my egi will come to me, but as soon as I attack something, my egi just starts attacking a random nearby monster that is not the one that I'm attacking. It only attacks the same target as me if it's the only target nearby. I noticed this in wanderer's palace during the final boss and in a few quests. Even if I clicked heel during combat, as soon as I DPS'd, it'd just target random nearby monsters. If I got it to hit a particular target initially, it'd go back to the other random monsters.

As for one quest example, in "Work in Progress," I was fighting ice crystals near a row of dummies at Falcon's Rest and my egi attacked a nearby dummy... No matter what I did, it wouldn't target the monster I was targeting. I was able to get it to temporarily target one of the crystals, just not the one I was fighting.

I haven't played SCH or SMN since right before the release of SHB, so I don't know if this is a new thing or if it's a bug or... if I'm just doing something wrong? Input would be nice. Thanks for the assist!

What you're looking for is the steady vs stay commands. Heel makes your pet stop what it's doing and run to you.
