Legitimate reasons why many of you do NOT like Gear Swapping

Gear Swapping is common in RPGs.

I need a logically sound argument as to why you do not want gear swapping.

Someone said, "it promotes elitism".

I say gear swapping is beneficial for SE, the worlds' economies, and game play.


BTW Mages can gear swap, melee can't. You have a flaw SE. Fix it and give us gear swapping in ACTIVE mode.

Video Games promote Elitism, and that is all there is to it.

Shooters aim for Elitism.
MMO's.
Racing.
Etc, Etc.

Crying about elitism in a video game is just nonsense.

What is the point of playing games? To win.

I liked gear-swapping. It crated a vast array of varied options that I could utilize in any given fight. For instance I had my Damage reduce set, Haste for spellcasting, and elemental sets depending on which mob I was fighting. I could adapt to any sitation thrown at me. What is wrong with that?

As in for Gear Swapping... that's retarded. Change armor during the fight, what the hell are we, freaking Inspector Gadgets? Nope! You have an armor, and you keep it until you finish the fight!

Eitherway, a system to change armors outside combat is fine.

Just because people outperform you, they are douchebags?

I am not one to say anything deragatory to anyone regarding my successes. But I play to be better than the rest, and instantly I'm labaled a "douchebag" because I'm above you in terms on overall successes in a game?

I guess that puts me in the status of Douchebaggery then. My kind is a dying breed it seems. I like playing games for the competition aspect. The fight to stay at the top, and work at bettering myself and those in my company.

My breed of people must be extinct lol.

All i want out of an MMO a game is to have fun, RELAX (caps because that bits really important) and enjoy the fantasy world of MMORPGs.

Being told I am "i am not good enough"
that I HAVE to be online at certain times of day or I will be kicked for inactivity

Maybe its just me, but using derogatory arguments and being a "Cyber Bully" is very closely linked to competitiveness and "elitist" attitudes.

My opinion is you should strive to better yourself for yourself and your own feeling of achievement - a true elitist NOT shout from the roof tops about how amazing you are - fake elitist

No, you would be a douchebag when/if you decide that you're so awesome you have the right to tell other people how much they suck and how you're so much better than them.

Being a better player doesn't make you elitist, being a self-righteous asshole does.

Agree / had this same problem with people thinking I'm a douchebag, which I'm not. I just state the facts and people don't like it sometimes.
