unable to complete version update [30426][19900][740]

So I had a problem with some lag during peak hours recently and went and followed some troubleshooting steps
"1) If you are connecting to your router using a wireless connection, try connecting using an Ethernet cable.

    2) Try resetting your router by turning it off, then back on after a few minutes.

    3) Make sure your anti-virus has the proper exceptions for Final Fantasy XIV. This includes the install folder and the locally-saved data folder (located My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV).

    4) Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that they have been opened:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040
Your ISP can open these ports for you.

    5) Try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

    6) The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu."

I did all except for the ports because that is not something that is supported where I live. Mind you game was working before so.

Right now I am not able to login the game because of this error.

I completely uninstalled and reinstalled which worked then I tried to open the game again and I get the same error. so everytime I need to play the game I have to reinstall it. any ideas?

Good afternoon and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums

Are you connected to the router through an ethernet cable or WiFi? Additionally, have you contacted your ISP in regard to the issue?

Good morning and thank you for the reply.

Is the game allowed through the fire wall? You mention after reinstalling it you can play again, how long after the reinstall do you experience the error ?

When I reinstall it I can play as long as I keep the client open - after I close it and try to get it on again I get the error.

I tested on a different PC and laptop with my account and had a friend try his as well there were no issues, I can open, close and use the game normally.

Just on my current laptop where I would get that error. It's been a real bummer with over a month having this issue and just opting in for keeping my laptop on for 3-4 days then redownloading it 2-3 times a week
