REQUEST: Remove Aether Currents

They are a pain, but they are there to “teach” you to navigate a new area. They serve a purpose but it is annoying how flying is blocked. I understand the reasoning, do to make it more fun to explore and find the currents my partner and I will team up together and do it. It is tolerable and sometimes fun that way.

Personally i liked how azys lla handled it. They even nerfed letting a backseat use their compass while riding to deter getting them with friends or FC mates. I think its kind of dumb, that they lock it behind side quests personally. But I can't disagree with people that say things like "its a one time thing, its earned rights, etc" They are all rightful reasoning. It is still annoying, should be locked behind story if the purpose is to prevent from overshotting the area but this is my personal take on it. I'm also okay with a bozja like rendition, where your level will unlock more areas if they want to do it that way, theres more than 1 way to skin a cat

It would probably be a good compromise to open flights in some area after completing the story quest, but here again we are faced with two problems. First: seems developers do not have the time and money to redo this content. Second: there will always be people who will not like it.

As much as I'd agree with you, if buying a boost potion allows you to bypass having to do this at all(as per the OP's statements) then i do not see why this is a "earned right" at all. That is what I agree with completely. So throw this garbage out of side quests, if that is the case. Becoming a raider in a single day isn't earned rights no matter where someone comes from, its actually kind of an insult to those that do.

Because money means something. You earn the right to have it during the current expansion and without paying extra by doing what little the devs want (compared to what they could make you do a la WoW's flying unlock, etc.).

I'm pretty sure they just want you to explore the map on foot before you get to fly. WoW uses the "cartographer" Achievement as a similar restriction.

Imho, it's a reasonable prerequisite, one that mostly solves itself while doing the MSQ.
