[Petition] Make lvl1/Glamour gear All Classes... or!

... or, if class visual identity is a concern (which... fair, tho most players ignore it anyway), bring back the Disciple of War/Magic categories?

The replica Sky Pirate stuff is universal (for example), so why not some of the others? More variety is never a bad thing, I think. I'm also one of those people who prefer to stick to one look for their character, which is a bit of a challenge atm due to a lot of the Glamour gear being class-specific.

(The odds of this happening are... not great, I know, but it was worth a shot, right?)

There's a difference between glamour gear (gear designed specifically for glamour and has no stats) and gear we use for glamour (which has stats and is frequently class/job locked). The vast majority of gear in the game falls into the latter category.

I'd generally agree that most gear should have class/job restrictions removed for cosmetic use only (so a MNK could use a Healing skirt for glamour appearance but couldn't equip the actual item since the stats are wrong for MNK). As it is, most gear models are already shared between multiple jobs/classes if not also roles. Some of them are even more appropriate in appearance to class/jobs than can't use them than the class/jobs that can.

The exception would be the class/job specific Artifact gear. Those sets should remain class/job locked even for glamour because they are vary much based around class/job identity.

Totally! The YoHRa sets for example, they all look like gear that a spellcaster or rogue would wear. I wish we could use the coins to purchase glam-free versions of them.

No glamour outside of AF gear should be job locked.

Then there's stuff like Replica Coils or Allagan gear that's level 1 copies (that can be dyed, too) of gear with stats and etc. In general though I'm glad we can agree that making Glamour less restrictive would be nice!

Yeah the Sky Pirate sets are in a similar position by virtue of being primarily... clothes.

I focused mainly on level 1 stuff because that seems more reasonable but honestly yeah, I agree..

I think anything you add to your glamour plate wardrobe shouldn't be restricted. You are using prisms, so its just a reflection of the armor pieces anyways. I'm sure anyone who does glamour in game would agree...ever found that certain set of boots or gloves that would compliment one of your glamour plates, only to have it locked to another job? Or if you had that certain look you wanted to make your own and use it for all jobs, not being able to do this can be inconvenient and annoying, I hope they change their mind on such things.

Another annoying thing is not being able to renew your glamour plate when you get a new piece of gear in most areas...and you are stuck wearing this new piece that throws your whole look out the window until you can teleport to a valid location and then back again

    ...ok, I'm done complaining. :P
I often feel the devs feel like this <.....> after reading all of out complaints everyday. lol

Oh god yes. As a DNC, it's kind of frustrating that most of the gear resembling something a Dancer would wear are locked behind Scouting or Striking sets.

I know the job is new, but even after ShB release, most of the Aiming sets we got only provide a silhouette that feels appropriate for Machinist or Bard.

We should be able to glam anything we can equip as any job. So if you want, say, the Copied Factory caster dress on your tank, you can, as long as you have a caster job that can equip it. Equipment should still be earned, but once you've earned it, you should be able to use it freely.

I don't think they are ever going to make anything that isn't Lv1-pure-glamour gear work for all classes. Either it isn't actually feasible in their weird underlying system, or they don't want to.

Also the glamour dresser isn't ever going to let you do anything that you can't do by applying prisms, because it mimics that process and the resulting glamour is indistinguishable at a programming level.

So I think the emphasis needs to be on asking for more Lv1 replicas of gear sets like the sky pirate series. They've shown they are willing and able to do it, and there are a lot of things that would be excellent to get similar treatment.
