    how to fix paladin propertly

    all BOSS- should have a fix dammage of 9999
    A reguliar attack should do 9999 VS a base deffense of 0

    100 deffense should reduce 50% of the dammage- 5000 avg hit
    200 deffense should reduce 60% of the dammage- 4000 avg hit
    300 deffense should reduce 70% of the dammage- 3000 avg hit
    400 deffense should reduce 75% of the dammage- 2500 avg hit
    500 deffense should reduce 80% of the dammage- 2000 avg hit
    550 deffense should reduce 90% of the dammage- 1000 avg hit
    650+ deffense should reduce 95% of the dammage-499.95 avg hit

    Paladin base should be 650 with best nq gear- with food and potion and hq gear you would go over 700 giving you a 96-97% reduction being at cap

    warrior should have base of 550 deffense with best nq gear- with food and potion and hq gear should be very close to 650 but not over by much if it does go over
    drg pug arch should have base of 500 with nq best gear for deffense- up to 550 with food potion and hq gear- possibly able to reach 600 but loses stats for DPS-
    same for mage but up to 550 instead of 600-

    What do you guys think? any better ideas??

    Ara, stop being a jerk.

    So the problem with the posted idea is that it would be really easy to raise your def high enough that you barely take any damage. And since a lot of gear is shared between PLD and WAR this wouldnt really solve the PLD/WAR debate. Having an intrinsic difference in defense between WAR and PLD is probably an OK idea. Could be achieved by Job Traits.

    But like Aratharn said, there are numerous topics discussing this very idea.

    While I'm not against such an idea, I'd increase the defense needed to reduce damage 400+ there instead of lowering it. For one thing most jobs can reach around 600-650 defense with protect and food, we don't want jobs being able to easily sit on the point defense starts having severe diminishing returns, it might just encourage more DPS tanks. Jobs like WAR and PLD can already reach roughly 1k defense fully buffed and with abilities, even if you took out 100ish defense off WAR like you suggested with the current model, WAR could still take next to nothing so it really wouldn't separate PLD anymore from WAR than it currently is.

    Not tryin to shoot your idea out of the air though, it just really works against PLD at higher levels when so many jobs can close that little gap easily.
