    Just spitballing some ideas

A few random ideas for the game, came to mind and I figured I'd share. Not sure how good they are. But here it goes.

    1. Have the ability to swap out the Chocobo companion with a different mount. Personally I'd like the use the Direwolf. Or Cavalry Drake.

    2. I feel like the jobs are becoming a bit to "top heavy". Leaving the low levels feeling a bit thin when leveling up. Instead of trying to maintain a certain number of job abilities, and stretching them out across an ever increasing level cap. Maybe a better way would be to have a button that swaps out old abilities for newer ones. And switch back, and forth as needed.

    3. I don't believe I'm the only one who thinks it's a bit odd that Bard is the one that uses a bow instead of a Ranger type job. But if something like Ranger was added, then what weapon would it use? What came to mind is a wrist mounted bow with an off hand dagger.
The wrist bow would be for ranged of course, while the dagger could be used for stuns and status affects on enemies that manage to get in close. Or maybe the dagger could be used in an ambush attack before using some move that gives distance for the wrist bow.
Or a combination of the two. I also think that the Machinist's old ammunition gauge might work well for the wrist bow.

    4. We've become pretty powerful by this point. So maybe now would be a good time to have some job/roll quests where we're the ones teaching. Though a White mage couldn't teach someone who isn't a Padjal to become another White mage. They could still teach a Conjurer to be a better Conjurer.

So that's it. Share what you think.

    1. That'd be hella cool. I'd love to switch my chocobo over to my Rathalos. Think it'd be too cumbersome for them to implement though.

    2. It'd be nice if they just did what they did for stuff like Rage of Halone morphing into Royal Authority. At low levels, keep the old skills/animations/potencies, and just have skills morph at higher level, so they can nix less in the early levels.

    3. Well, it starts as Archer, but it'd be nice if there was a bow related class that focused solely on the bow. I could see them implementing a crossbow class, Hunter, like in FF5.

    4. We are shown teaching people or trying to at times. The 60~70 Monk quest line eventually has us show some pugilist and monks how we got so strong. You get to tell them to do like 100 Fists of Earth reps and stuff. It's funny. DRG had us attempting to mentor Heustienne from 52~60, but the plot diverged from awkward mentorship to just a normal quest line. In most of the 80s quest lines, the previous job NPCs regard us with awe, and they aspire to reach our level, but it's implied that we're beyond just simple mastery, so they marvel not only at our skill at this point, but also at how we could become so terrifyingly powerful. Case and point is the 80 PLD quest. Aldis was left quaking in his SAM AF. Yeehaw.

It does run the risk of coming across as "lazy", but I personally wouldn't mind if they upgraded some of the older skills over introducing new ones? Surely there comes a point where there's just too many to juggle..
    ...
... and also I would love DRK getting a new 1-2-3 combo, the animations are so flaccid lol

Bard is a ranger type job with the added ability of songs.

    I'd LOVE this.

That's a side effect of increasing character lvls. I've seen the same thing in WoW. I suspect this is why Blizzard have decided to do a lvl squish in that game because the class abilities were being spread thinly over a very large lvl range. That and the max lvl went past 100 which can be very daunting to new players who may get the impression that max lvl is a lot farther away than it actually is. I'm really not sure there is a good way to fix this without a lvl squish. Your suggestion kind of already exists. Some skills are just upgrades of older skills.

I don't think it's strange for a bard to use a bow. To me it makes sense for a bard to use something like a bow. It's a weapon that requires a high amount of precision and finger dexterity just to set up a shot, and playing a musical instrument also requires those skills. There is also a story element that says the first bards plucked bow strings to accompany their singing. They are rangers at heart. They just learned to use their weapons to do a bit more than just firing arrows.

That being said I'd like to see another ranged class that specialises in bows, but of course not a long or short bow because it would look too similar to bard. I'd like to see a class that specialises in crossbows. Maybe dual wield them to set them apart even farther from bard. Or a crossbow mounted on their arm and use of another off-hand ranged weapon, similar to what you said.

Some job quests already have this, but they are a handful among the entire set. It would be cool to see more of this.

I've sometimes wondered if they didn't originally plan to introduce more companions than just the chocobo and changed their minds. Either way, I'd welcome this, but I'd also like to see the ability to bring a member of your squadron along in the open world as a companion.
