    frequent 90006 on ps4

For a week or so now, I've had tons of 90006 errors on ps4. It is currently connected via wifi, and not easy to connect hardline, but I suppose I could try it for testing purposes if absolutely necessary.

I have two mains on Coeurl. Both disconnect with similar frequency. I took one to Diabolos via world visit, that disconnected eventually. I have an alt on Jenova, she disconnects as well, and I created an alt on Shiva; that one has not disconnected yet.

It does seem to stay connected longer if I do basic things in game. I can run fates, do fetch quests, that sort of thing. The second I try to summon a retainer, I'm out. Everyone stops moving, and I'll get 90006 after a minute. If I log back in, sometimes I can get retainer access. That's the only thing I've noticed reliably...the time I can spend in game changes, sometimes it's a few minutes, sometimes it's a couple hours. Sometimes I can complete a dungeon, sometimes I can't. I have not tried going in to Bozja, I feel like that would be pretty bad.

About half the time, when I disconnect, I also cannot log back in and get a 2002 error.

Everything else on my connection works just fine. My wifi doesn't go out, my computer stays connected, my phone stays connected. I've removed and re-added my wifi network to my ps4. This is extremely frustrating; I'm missing out on prog with my static, so probably won't be able to raid again until the next tier. I'm missing out on Bozja, I'm trying to complete the yokai quests on two mains, like. I know I'm not the only one with this problem.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

We apologize for the delay in responding. Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    - Please make sure that "Cookies" and "JavaScript" are ENABLED on the PSN browser. If they are already checked, please uncheck them then recheck them.
    - The issue could also be from the "Date & Time" settings on your PS4.
    1. Close the FINAL FANTASY XIV game/application.
    2. Go to [SETTINGS] on your PS4
    3. Select [Date and Time], and "Set via Internet". (Please do not manually set the date and time.)
    4. Once the date and time have been updated, please restart your PS4 console.
    5. Once the console has fully restarted, please start the FINAL FANTASY XIV game/application.

Please make sure all other internet-enabled devices (including smartphones, laptop/desktop PCs, tablets, etc.) have been disabled and/or turned OFF to minimize game interference.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, please check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy Technical Support Forums.

I have done all of the above troubleshooting and all the ports are open.

Good morning and thank you for the reply.

Do you only experience disconnection in Final Fantasy XIV? Please ensure that you power down both the modem and the console for at least five minutes before attempting to connect to FINAL FANTASY XIV. Additionally, you may want to try contacting your ISP.

Yes, it is only in FFXIV. I have already contacted my ISP. I will try powering down the modem and console for at least five minutes, but I am pretty skeptical of that helping. I will keep you posted.

Good afternoon and thank you for the reply.

Since posting this, have you noticed any changes in the connection? Do you still experience the error?

I have ensured that my modem, router, and console were off for over five minutes before trying again, and the error persists. I was able to retrieve venture reports from two retainers before getting 90006 again, so I stay connected for quite a short period of time.

I finally moved my ps4 to another room where it can get a hard line connection and have since stopped receiving the error. I did get a 90001 last night, but had little trouble logging back in. It is still bizarre that this only happens with FFXIV, but I suppose it's resolved for the moment.
