SUGGESTION: Should Fantasia Potions have a "Glamour Plate" system?

Hi guys… I don’t know if this is the right place for a suggestion but I’d like to share my thoughts:

I’m pretty new to the game. Still leveling my first character, currently around lvl 35. I’m coming from World of Warcraft and in that game, I’m kind of an altoholic.

Here, I’ve been told multiple times that i don’t NEED alts, but I still feel like I WANT alts, because I like to play thematically sound characters: I’d like my dancer to be a viera, my marauder to be a male roegadyn, my gunbreaker to be a male hyur, and so on. Playing all jobs with the same character doesn’t feel appealing to me. And this game feels particularly alt-unfriendly as far as I’ve seen.

I’ve been pointed to Fantasia Potions, but they’re pretty impractical for what I desire. One-use items wouldn’t solve my issue, unless I bought a new one every time I wanted to switch jobs and let’s face it - that would be crazy.

For glamour, however, I fell in love with the glamour plate system, and I feel like it’s a very elegant solution for balancing the cost of creating glamours and making it a little more long-term investment.

So… I’d love to see a similar system used to Fantasia Potions. If we could have a few “Fantasia Plates” to switch appearance between jobs, suddenly spending $10 on each one would feel a little more long term and justified investment.

Even business wise I don’t think it’s a bad move, If we could have these “Plates” I believe a lot more people would feel motivated to buy Fantasia Potions to create and edit each of them.

So… what do you think?

I don't know about paying more out of pocket for another feature. I wish this thing your suggesting is like the glamor plate link system where you swapped to one of your saved gear sets when its linked to a glamor you automatically glamor the items like they are on the plate. I would rather if they fixed the link to glamor plate system so it can work everywhere.

I dont think SE has any plans to change the fantasia potion system and the one character all jobs is widely praised so i don't see them changing either. Have alts and jump pots if you dont wanna do MSQ all over again.

Alternatively, pay for several months at a time (same price as normal monthly) and you get as many as 8 characters per server. It’s not too hard to level them up individually and there is no need to level a variety of jobs on a single character unless you want variety, or engage in the more heavy endgame stuff.

You would be perfectly fine having 8 different characters and it doesn’t take too long to get through the main story..or just buy story skip potions.

The optimal is all on one, but you are certainly not bound by it.

SE believes that race and gender choice are important to a character's identity. I don't think this is something they would ever do.

Out of curiosity, why do you think a Viera shouldn't be a Gunbreaker or your tanks have to be male? There's nothing "thematically sound" in such restrictions when such restrictions aren't being imposed on NPCs in the game. Instead, you're creating stereotypes.

Thematically sound would be your character accepting their racial/gender identity regardless of what job(s) he/she chooses to pursue. How one looks shouldn't limit their opportunities.

It's not that bad. I've got 6 characters, 4 at level cap and 2 I'm leveling.

Most items in the game aren't that hard to obtain on multiple characters. I focus on the ones I want that particular character to use and ignore the others, assuming I don't still end up with them through normal game play (which I frequently do).

With respect to glamour, so many of the better appearances are job locked that it wouldn't even help in your situation. I still hate that one beautiful full length skirt model is only available to tanks even though I would love to use it with other jobs.

Even before I got an active group of friends, I was using the MB to trade items and gil between my characters. It meant losing a little gil to the MB fees but so what? Gil is easy to earn.

Some players create their own FCs and add their alts to solve the mail problem. Others get friends to help them out - it's not unusual for someone to mail me stuff they want on their alt and I either forward it in the mail or trade it to the alt once online. It's not something that needs to be done so often that it feels like a significant inconvenience.

Oh I don't think a viera shouldn't be a gunbreaker or a lalafell can't be a marauder... I'm all about anybody playing whatever they like. I'm sayin that -I- personally don't want to play a viera gunbreaker or a lalafell marauder.
Every MMO I played, a combination of race+gender+class is the most important part of character creation.
Being somewhat "forced" (or "heavily incentivized") to play all classes on the same character is a bummer for me. But it's ok, I guess I can deal with the alts restrictions. I just think this idea might be nice - for both the players and SE's fantasia sales.

Hmm I think Fantasia glam plate would be a little overkill but I like the idea in general.

I would love a quick access to the services the creepy barber dude provides.
Would be really cool if Ifalna could e.g.: open/redo her hair with the push of a button.
Or tie different hairstyles to different sets of gear, to avoid clipping issues etc.

Before any of that, I'd like for them to put the glam dresser into our houses and make glam plates actually do their jobs in the open world though.
Seriously, this is 2020, almost 2021 not 2000. Server resources should not be that ridiculously limited. If it works well in overcrowded city hubs, it will work just as well in housing areas and in the wild.
