BST was certainly my favorite job in XI, though I first mained RDM. When I switched over to XIV years ago, it was the one job that I would have loved to see carry over. Then I played SMN/SCH when it was released, at which point I started prefacing my want for BST in XIV with "as long as it played differently from SMN/SCH". Which given how different the XI pet jobs are, I did not think would be too difficult at the time and remained optimistic. Then BLU was released with a warning that BST was also being considered as a limited job. At that point I thought that if releasing it as a limited job was the only option, then I would rather it not be released at all. That said, I would still try it out and hope that my expectations would be completely wrong, but I am not holding my breath.

What I would like to see is XIV's version of the BST job (NOT limited). To make it fit in with the current game and world. I do not see it being able to Charm as it did in XI, but I would imagine it would still be able to use Jug Pets or some equivalent. While I would love to use different pets for tanking, DD'ing, and healing, it will likely have to stay in one role to make balancing it easier. DD would be the obvious fit, however, as they did with DRK, they could opt to go down a different path. Healer could be fun if they are creative with it and allow it to play differently from SCH.

For a weapon class, I would prefer a whip for BST. Though in XI, I did enjoy the look of duel-wielding single hand axes as BST/NIN. Maybe if they go the unexpected route and make it a healer, perhaps a Bell weapon.
