Maybe the tropes would still be the same, but at least the writers we do have actually do research and not just surface layer of said subject. Let alone not being anywhere near as racist or any of the various other things JK has going against her.

If we're going to hire outside writers for FFXIV, may I suggest Stephen King.
FFXIV needs a good killer clown-alien /s
"We want bunny suits for guys!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Ishgard housing!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Viera!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Cloud's motorcycle!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Blue Mage!"-- OK! ✅
"We want the ability to earn past Feast rewards!" - HAHA no that's sacred.
There's plenty of skilled British and American writers, though. It's not like the writers for FFXIV don't lean on generic and cliche tropes that are lacking in depth. Just look at the utter lack of meaningful, lasting consequences for the protagonists in 5.3 - compared to how ARR and HW had many consequences to deal with and things did not always wrap up in a neat little bow.
She's innocent until proven guilty and Twitter mob outrage is not a court of law no matter what some may seek to bring about.

Oh dear, here comes out this nonsense. Do you genuinely believe the Japanese writers in this game are all kinds of woke? She is woke herself, just not to the even more transparently stupid degree some of her 'critics' are.
When the game's story becomes self-aware:

Read Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe
Everyone is racist/sexist/homophobic/whatever the next made up word is according to those people.
Too late. We already had that quest chain with "elf kid who looks like Harry Potter" and "Inspector who is only interesting when Hildebrand is around."
