Mogstation questions (gift giving)

As much as I am loathed to purchase things from the mogstation with its audacious gallery of purchasable items on an already pay-to-play game... X'D It's probably the best route to buy a little something for my friends for the upcoming holidays.

So, my question was: how does "gift to a friend" on mogstation work? Does it give you a code to give to your friends? Or does it mail it through the moogle delivery service in game like if you were to buy for yourself? If the latter, does it allow you to submit a delivery date? If the former, does the code ever expire (i.e. could I hold onto said code until I want to deliver it)?

IIRC gifting things gives you a code to give to them. I don't BELIEVE it expires, but I have never checked. Usually the things I gift are redeemed within a couple weeks at latest.

Yes it's an item code, I think it may expire after 2 years though. Just give it to your friend when you want to within those 2 years. (Or maybe it was Crysta that expires?)

I can say for a fact that Crysta doesn't expire... I have 1 crysta sitting on my account since pretty much the beginning of 2.0 lol can't buy anything with it actually let me rephrase that its been sitting in there since 1.0... used crysta to buy my time during the pay period for 1.0 instead of my debit card since the original place they went with was iffy
