    Same Items With Different Melds is this possible

    Hello There,
    Sorry if this have been discussed before but I am new here, I am a new Player to FFXIV this month will be a Full year since I have started this game, Its amazing that you can level up everything on the same character, But I have a problem with the melding system in the game.
    Why can't we have a melding system that will allow you to have the same Gear or Set **BUT** with different Melds instead of changing melds every time.

    Because the meld is on the gear itself. To do what you want, they would have to separate the meld from the gear and make gear set more than a macro to change gear/apply glamour plate so that it can hold things like melding information.

    You rarely use the same item on more then one class by the late game. While early on you'll be using one set for all the casters, one set for all the attackers, and one for the tanks, the items will become specific enough that you'll want the same stats for everybody who uses that item.

    Right up until the endgame where you'll have picked one or two classes to specalise in, and you'll have items perfectly maximiised for exactly that class, but that won't matter as much.

    All Of tanks share the same Gear, SAM , MNK and DRG share same accessory and ( SAM and MNK share same gear )

    Most of the time the mnk/sam/drg accessories is during leveling and not at end game where a lot of the time drg gets it's own accessories. Just like how often nin gets their own except for when sharing them with the ranged physical dps.

    I wouldn't worry too much, generally, the stat priorities are the same between the majority of classes that share gear, barring specific cases with Skill Speed/Spell Speed, to my understanding. In any circumstance, your aim should not be swapping out melds, but rather to find a middle ground that works for both of the classes, be it within the gear pieces you use, or the melds you apply to said pieces, be it with SAM/MNK, or SMN/BLM.

    Where does one find a middle ground when most of the tanks have different SKS tiers to hit, or how about with Crit BLM, which uses most of the same gear RDM/SMN does, but with SPS melds? How about the MNK and SAM sets with different SKS tiers to hit among their shared gear in order to do specific things with their rotation? Or healers general shared gear but different desired substats?

    Fact of the matter is that there are very few instances of "middle ground" that works for all the classes in a role, save for maybe Physrange. Meld changes are required for the jobs to function properly. It's a consequence of having an archaic "unique item" system when it's not necessary. This system should be removed as it only serves to limit the playerbase.

    Middleground = you make a compromise between the two, that can work between the two. You obviously aren't getting optimal, but the point being you sacrifice Spell speed or Skill Speed where it may not be absolutely necessary and then just adjust the opener, or filler accordingly, or factor your build to hit the necessary skill/spell speed and shaft some extra critical/direct hit, or determination. That's just simply the price you pay for wanting to play across all classes. Let's not forget also using different foods to help. Unless of course, you want to retrieve melds for every single time you desire a class change.

    Whether I do, or do not agree with the system itself is an entirely different matter. I'd love something different, but alas this is what we're given.

    I don't wanna start a conflict, but what I mean is it really hard for SE To implement a system where you can have the same Gear With different Melds, Changing between Materia Every single time Can be really really expensive. I really hope that SE can put a system where you can have the Same Gear with different melds. idk why I made this post **But**, I feel it can be a really good addition to the FFxiv Melding system

    It would be a great addition in all lengths of the game, including that of crafting and gathering seeing as many niche efficient rotations require very specialist/niche builds. As for the technicality of it, to put it into perspective we only got glamour plates in 4.2, and still no word of that being extended to be out of major cities and housing zones. So that probably gives you a bit of an idea, since it would probably be similar to what this feature would be(?). I would argue it's very possible to see it as a QoL in the very distant future.
