You'd almost think that SCHs have had problems only once in a blue moon and WHM has been chronically underpowered for a really long time. Or something.
Let's not attack each other for "throwing fits" over class balance, the ideal way to get healer feedback ignored is to become petty over one healer being better than another in the past and start squabbling among ourselves over it.
I personally never understood the mentality of "this class has been good for a long time, I'm glad they wrecked it now!". It was the same with tanks when WAR became the least played, the gloating from other tanks was silly. Which dev would take feedback seriously when they read "I want my class to have toys but not SCH because they got them last expansion!". SCH is the least popular healer in the game now, it could do with some work.
They can spoil SCH to bits for all I care as long as they make the other two fun to play and viable too.
Too be fair whm is since ages a “bad” job. The problem whas that’s astro starts every expansion worse and then gets buffed to heaven and beyond, and just because whm has the easy healer mentality and the nocturnal astro whas so bad for ages and sch back then whas busted that you only had the choice between astro or whm because sch whas always a stapleLet's not attack each other for "throwing fits" over class balance, the ideal way to get healer feedback ignored is to become petty over one healer being better than another in the past and start squabbling among ourselves over it.

All I want for SCH at this point in time is Fey Blessing to be an AoE Aetherpact, and maybe for Lustrate to not be a worthless heal. The first would help with AoE healing in worst case scenarios (or just in good scenarios, helps everybody out). The second is more because...what point is there in using Lustrate anymore? It doesn't heal enough to be of any major help. Maybe add a shield to it so it's a quick burst heal/shield at a cost?

I only take this stance out of intense urge to troll people who drive me nuts with their hypocrisy. Every time I say "all three healers have been made unfun, we should fix this", some Scholar comes out of the woodwork to wail and screech about "BUT SCHOLAR WAS NERFED THE WORST NONE OF YOU UNDERSTAND HOW FAR WE FELL, WE NEED THE MOST ATTENTION", and my stance shifts just a touch toward ".....maaaaaaybe not you. Just to see what happens when you take a taste of the neglect your fellow other non-chronically-overpowered healers see".
It's not like this is new, Scholars were dramatically flinging themselves at their fainting couches in 4.0 and calling themselves "unfairly targeted" all fecking expansion, when they were a mandatory slot again within two weeks. I was surprised they didn't get superbuffed yet this expansion.
Let's just say I'm glad I'm having fun with RDM, because I got very, very, very, very, very, very, very, incredibly bone-tired of forum Scholarinas telling White Mages to "stop complaining, you'll get buffed eventually" only to raise Cain on the rare occasion they dipped below "best healer evar", then to return to telling White Mages to "calm down" once they got buffed. In an endless cycle.
I know that feeling man. Just seeing sch being so super strong and always being picked for all raif tiers up until ShB. And the moment they become the new “whm” and aren’t always taken anymore they cry bloody murder and want too be the most picked again instead of wanting the jobs to be fun plan and being diverse from each other. Too be fair healing in itself is a joke atm with boring game play and heavy boring downtime’s.I only take this stance out of intense urge to troll people who drive me nuts with their hypocrisy. I laughed out loud, amazing job.
Exactly. WHM spent essentially all of SB as the worst healer there where as SCH (apart from release when Adlo was like 2k MP or something, among other issues) was the guaranteed pick all expansion.I know that feeling man. It's just that SCH mains get used to this and then when they're suddenly confronted with the possibility of having to play another job it's this huge tragedy.
Like, girl I've been learning and playing 2 jobs for years now just to be able to swap between AST and WHM as SE fumbles for balance - I think you'll be okay.
I do feel I have to work harder in dungeons playing scholar but I like the variety of skills I can use, I started playing FF with scholar in its current state, but thankfully I play all healers so can switch between them all

I don’t mind working harder for scholar because when I succeed it feels so emu he sweeter. I like the limited but do wish I had a few more options to dot or dps like just give scholar one more dot and another dps combo skill. The key to healing w scholar for me is managing and timing everything. I would also like my fairies to be distinct in someway. Maybe one shields and heals direct and the other regens and heals direct just something.
Funny how this turned into a debate between angry Scholars and bitter Whitemages when the issue was never, and still isn't, with SCH's viability. And maybe you should stop aiming at each other and instead look at who caused this mess in the first place?
SCH and WHM don't work well together because they're not good at covering for each other's weaknesses, but replace either of them with an Astro and both are completely fine in any kind of content.
Right now one simply feels terrible to play compared to it's previous iterations and the other finally got some improvements to it's gameplay.
Just like WHMs had every right to complain about their clunky job, and still do since it may have improved but not significantly, so do SCHs have every right to complain.
The idea that one or the other has to just shut up and accept that their job feels terrible to play, just because they were flavour of the month at some point, is ridiculous.
