"Politics are for kings and lords, talk of wealth for merchants, the rest of us should concern ourselves with the health and wellbeing of one another."
Well, the devs have gone on record saying they are not planning to ever add new races to the game.
While that is true, I personally would not mind a non-hero race or two to be added.
Basically, a character you create that can level up to cap, but it has no classes and extremely limited glamour. They would have all locations unlocked, and be able to engage content in the field and level up.
Basically something like Bluemage that is mostly self contained, minus dungeons and story, but can go anywhere. Maybe give them a skill set similar to paladin or red age (dps base with self healing).
Think... tourist?
The point being I could have a friends who are not really interested in playing the full on game, but might want to just hang out and do mahjong or sightseeing or treasure hunts for a short bit.
Considering how people are already upset about Hrothgar/Viera not being able to wear helmets - despite them announcing that beforehand and being quite clear about it - I've little intrest in seeing them add a race (even just in theory) that wouldnt be able to wear 99% of all gear, hairstyles etc.
All we'd get would be people complaining that their moogle cant wear item XY when item XY wasnt designed with moogles in mind and cant easly be fitted for one... seriously, how would they even wear any kind of shoes or pants?
Its just a can of worms that I dont even want to open in theory...
(So its kinda nice to know that this is all just hypothetical - we wont get more races. Period. If we're "lucky" we'll get the two missing genders at some point, but thats about it.)

For this to work, there would have to be things to actually do in the open world other than hunts and FATEs. And given how many people were raging about blue mages over the Yo-Kai event......Well, the devs have gone on record saying they are not planning to ever add new races to the game.

10/10 thought Lalas were hairless, wingless moogles. Are you saying they're not?
I would probably never again get a single dungeon/raid/encounter done if one of those were in my party...I would be too busy trying to get them killed.
Add Ivalician Moogles. Just edit over the Lalafel model. Job's a good 'un.
That is kinda my point; the "tourist" character has access to everything in the open world that an end-game character might. If they want any other content, they would play the actual game. Benefit being they can go anywhere with their friends, maybe scout around/video drone for podcasts, etc.
