To me it seems like its designed as an MP set for blm, with all the raw mp + pie + refresh - while also adding a few things for brd/whm. A lot of people complain about MP issues on blm (or used to) so I think this is probably a solution.

Why give up all you Mag acc, magic potency, and crit, and Int for a few more MP that will hardly make a difference?

Not every set of gear has to have the same stat set up, this set of gear is obviously more of an enfeebling/mp set - you dont have to use it if you dont want to.

Personally I want the boots for blm, the emnity- down is a lot more useful to me than af or any melds. 1/4 pieces being useful I'm fine with, because chances are the next set of DoM gear will be useless for whm.

I do agree that the cowl is pretty much useless though.

Well, when you get a piece of darklight, be sure to pass it to someone else, since it's clearly of no use to you. I'm sure there are many others who don't feel the same as you do.

Yeah that's the problem. The drop rate that people are upset about. It's very low for this mediocre gear. Other the drop rate needs to be improved, or the stats.

If it did drop to me I would give it to someone else in a heartbeat. I hate getting weapons like Morbid Balde or Ifrit's blade and I can't give it to someone who will actually use it.

Arguments can be made for the dl boots for blm but not so much the rest of the set. But it's not that big of a deal to me to be honest.

Gotta agree, the mage sets are underwhelming, if war and pld both get a tank and DD set, why cant mages get a offensive and defensive set?
