The Source and The First (SPOILERS)

So I'm having trouble understanding something. Amaurot is in the First, but I was led to believe the Source was the Star after the Final Days. The other shards merge with the Source. Now unless I'm bring too literal, wouldn't that mean the ruins of Amaurot are on the Source somewhere in the ocean to the west of Limsa and not the First? Also, since Eulmore is the First's Limsa, that could mean the ruins of Amaurot are in both the Source and the First? /shrug I don't know.

Each shard formed as an identical copy of the Source at the time when they split apart, so the ruins of Amaurot would exist in every shard and the Source. The only question is whether they are still there 12,000 years and seven calamities later.

I think it was Y'shtola who stated that the saurce might have no traces left after all the calamities... but yes the ruins and everything should be on every shard and our saurce.

If we saw the Sahagin homeland on the Source, I bet SE would include one or two relics as a wink-nudge, but ThE TeSt oF TiMe and seven calamities have probably demolished most of what's left of Source-Amaurot into dust, while there might be intact ruins here and there on the shards. Think about how much the land changed just between the Sixth and Seveth eras. Honestly the fact Limsa and Eulmore's foundations are so close is something of a miracle. Or the result of conveniently repurpose-able modeling assets. Or a miracle!

The ruins of Amaurot, if not destroyed by previous calamities, were almost certainly eradicated by the fourth calamity of earth, which I think is suggested to have created the island of La Noscea through a massive volcanic eruption.

It's entirely possible that there are Amaurotian ruins in the deep seas beyond Limsa too, but given that the sahagin of the Source are far more hostile to shorewalkers than the ondo of the First (and our lack of a giant fae whale to carry us down there), it's kinda hard to ask about it.

To build on this, remember the side quests in Amarout clearly imply there are other cities beyond Amarout. Even if Amarout ruins are never explored on the Source, other locations from this time period are still on the table.
