Unable to log into Main character... Connection with the server was lost. Error 90002

When submitting a bug report, please use the below template and thoroughly fill out the necessary information.

    Date & Time: October 13, 2020 , 14:00 EST
    Frequency: 100%
    World name: Excalibur
    Character name: Chiyojo Takai

    Steps:
    1. This started occurring my first login after patch 5.35 was pushed.

    2. I have been in contact with technical support via email and online chat session and have tried everything they have suggested twice or more. Port forwarding, deleting folders, uninstalling and reinstalling the entire game, nothing worked. I have been trying things for over a week now.

    3. It seems that my character is stuck logged in because when I try to log in another character immediately after it says a character is still logged in and that I need to wait. Which I do and I am able to log into the other characters with no problem.

    4. Technical support and GM's say that there is no way to manually communicate with the server to move the character and that the only other thing I can do is report a bug here.

I know this will sound crazy but connection issues are easy to troubleshoot if you have the ability to hotspot your computer. Do you have a wifi USB antenna and capability to hotspot your connection to your mobile device and try launching the game from there?

Good afternoon and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums

Do you experience this issue when logging onto any other character?

I also have this issue on PS4

I am hoping to jump into your post and see if we can both be helped. I have gone through all the same e-mail suggestions and now I am being told it's due to my Main character being logged in as well. For me, this error happened a couple of days ago on 11/2 at 10 PM EST. A system error occurred and Final Fantasy 14 was forcefully closed. For me, the error is occurring on PS4 and not Windows.

I followed steps to uninstall and reinstall the game twice, checked internet settings, and router port settings. After all the communications the e-mail says wait and maybe magic will happen because we cannot interfere with the servers directly.

I am on the server Malboro and this only affects my main character. I can log onto additional characters and create new ones, but anytime I try to load my main character the game crashes due to "corrupt data"

I was in the middle of a teleport between two areas, as the teleport finished casting the loading screen appeared. Once on the loading screen, my game crashed.

My thought is that there is a disconnect between the final fantasy server and the database the information is kept. My thought is the location data code is different and needs to either be restored or manually adjusted to correct the error.

I apologize, I don't have my PS4 specs on hand, I did check and there is no problem with the PS4 hardware, and the system software is all up to date. I haven't run into issues with my PS4 before.

Good afternoon and thank you for the reply

sevargneb could you try the following trouble shooting:

. Please make sure that "Cookies" and "JavaScript" are ENABLED on the PSN Browser. This can be done by going to the web browser on the PS4, press the options button, then go to settings. The options for Cookies and Javascript will most likely be checked, uncheck them and then recheck them.

The fault may also lie with the "Date & Time" settings on your PlayStation 4. We would advise to please follow the provided steps to adjust your console's clock to assure it is accurate and up-to-date:
Close the FINAL FANTASY XIV game/application.
Go to [SETTINGS] on your PS4.
Select [Date and Time], and "Set via Internet". (Please do not manually set the date and time.)
Once, the date and time settings have been updated, please restart your PlayStation 4 console.
Once your console has fully restarted, please start the FINAL FANTASY XIV game/application.
Please make sure all other internet-enabled devices (including smartphones, laptop/desktop PCs, tablets, etc.) have been disabled and/or turned OFF to minimize game interference.

If the suggestions provided above do not resolve the issue, then there is a communication error. (Not the same as a connection error.)
Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened/forwarded/triggered:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

Your ISP may forward these ports for you.*

If you have properly configured your router, and you are still experiencing these issues, our next suggestion is to bypass the router, and connect your console directly to your modem. Please ensure that you power down both the modem and the console for at least five minutes before attempting to connect to FINAL FANTASY XIV.
