Alexander. Get him walking again and take home with me wherever I go. Sure, there's that whole "destroys the land with aether-draining primal power" thing to work around, but I'm the Warrior of Light, plot convenience bends itself to my will. I'll figure something out.
I’d probably take over Bookman’s Step in Il Mheg or go live in Shirogane
Either Old Sharlayan for the great amount of knowledge there would continuously keep me busy or Sui-no-sato because I like water and the place looks pretty :3
The Azim Steppe, so that I could participate in the Naadam with the Dotharl and take over the Steppe.
Otherwise, I'd probably choose Limsa Lominsa or Kugane. I like cities
Self-Proclaimed Demon King
Yanxia seems suitably serene. Great agriculture, fishing, and a lovely sunset. Maybe we can take down the ugly Garlean stuff tho.
Idyllshire. I still think there should be a housing area there.
Werlyt, specifically Terncliff. It's got such a lovely Mediterranean coastal town feel to it. (Terncliff housing when?)
Failing that, maybe back to my character's ancestral homeland of Ala Mhigo. Or Ishgard... after all, House Fortemps considers the WoL to be family.
I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.Originally Posted by Packetdancer

Ishgard and/or The Tempest.
I like the snow, and the Tempest is just wow.
Eastern Thanalan and the Peaks in Gyr Abania are beautiful. Only thing I'm not a fan of would be the heat. I live in Southern California and I absolutely hate the 110+ degree summers here. Just agonizing to go outside any time between April and October. And since Eorzea isn't living in the 21st century, I'd have to spend a lot of time outside doing work. If I had to work a the fields in that heat, I'd keel over and die for sure. Fortunately I have never seen the heat wave status effect in either Eastern Thanalan or the Peaks, so my headcanon is that it is cooler.
If I had to pick a city, it'd be between Ul'dah or Kugane. Beautiful cities. Behind the scenes, the politics of Ul'dah and Kugane are a mess with the Syndicate members and the Hingashi lords in a constant power struggle, but you don't really see that as a commoner. Problem with Ul'dah is that I don't really see any commoner housing. Kugane seems very comfy (maybe I've just seen too much slice of life anime, so it kinda seems romantic? IDK). Problem with Kugane might be the humidity. I went to Austin Texas once and I could barely see because my eyes were tearing up, and I was sweating and it was sticky and miserable. According to google, Tokyo seems to have the same humidity as California, so it might be okay? IDK.
Gridania is also a good second pick. And Limsa (just not a fan of how rowdy that place seems to be in canon).
Dalmasca might also be pretty good, but it appears to be in a sandy desert so there might be heatwave problems. Don't know how the Garlean occupation affects the common man. In FFXII the occupation didn't really affect daily life, and the XII Legion seems to be actually competent rulers and not baby eating tyrants like every other legion in the game.
