The handling of The Make it Rain Campaign & All Saints' Wake makes me sad.

Not being able to go to any Halloween events safely IRL is a bummer. Seeing everyone dressing in Halloween clothes I don't have in FFXIV is a bummer. Not being able to get any of these items through the unrelated replacement event is a bummer. Not being able to get the unrelated replacement event's signature hairstyle is a bummer. The MogStation sale is like a taunt.

It's hard to keep up seasonal traditions IRL, and I wanted to do it partially through FFXIV (and online movie nights, and rereading old horror stories...). Occupying a virtual space with friends is a relief from the anxiety-shroud of the pandemic, and having this shroud pulled back over my face as a microtransaction opportunity is incongruous with an otherwise deeply generous game.

I've seen arguments regarding this event on principle or resource allocation, but I wanted to say, sincerely, that it just makes me sad. I wish it was handled differently.

well... if you joined here in 2016, you have had several years of events to get halloween items and do things with your friends.

my fc and friends are dressing up.. and all in things available commonly in game or off the mp.

dont rely on others to make things how you want, take some initiative and set it up for yourself with friends. its doable and might even have more fun because you did it yourself.

You know, even if they did do a full event you would not be able get any of those in game. They might have made a new outfit, or maybe something else. Last two were a mount and a couple minions.

The only 'new' stuff is the Twins' Outfit, and the data for it has been in the game for a far longer time already, thus most likely finished before.
