Acquiring Artifact Gear After Level Boosting

Hello everyone,

I'm not exactly a new player, but neither am I really experienced one. I boosted an astrologian I have to 70 and really wanted the artifact gear you get at 60. However, when I go to the calamity vendor in Gridania, I'm only able to get the antiquated astrologian gear (the one with the turban). It looks really nice, but I really love the level 60 set (it gives me Dark Souls vibes). Am I completely locked out of it or is there another way to get it?

AF2 sets (the level 60 AF) are bought with Centurio Seals from Yolaine (the old woman behind the counter) at the Forgotten Knight tavern in Ishgard (you have to first unlock the Hunt in your starting city at it's Grand Company HQ by speaking to the NPC beside the Hunt Board, complete at least one daily Hunt which is very easy, and then unlock the Hunt in Ishgard by speaking to the NPC next to the Hunt board outside the Forgotten Knight in Ishgard's Foundation and complete the very quick and easy quest that is given), and participate in the Hunt to earn those seals.

However, as I understand it the Job boost item is meant to reward all the sets of AF gear for that Job up to the level you have boosted to. But as I have never used a Job booster I have no idea I'm sorry, so you might just have to gain them the 'normal' way I'm afraid (Retainer Quick Ventures also do have a very remote chance of bringing back AF gear as well).

The 60 AF armor has to be purchased with Centurio seals in the bar in Foundation. You gotta also do the ARR hunt unlock quests that leads to the ishgard hunt quests being available.
After that I believe there's a way to augment the armor in idylshire, but I can't remember exactly how, if you want to dye it.

Anyway, to repurchase AF armors in general, its

From my experience (only ever did a 60 boost) unless they changed it you get a set of unaugmented max level gear, an accessory from the final dungeon, 300k worth of platinum pieces, and the job quests considered as completed. Since AF2 wasn’t given as a job quest reward originally you’d have to get it from the vendor. Only the level 45 AF/50 chestpiece as well as the level 70 AF came from completing quests naturally.

After that I believe there's a way to augment the armor in idylshire, but I can't remember exactly how, if you want to dye it.

Not anymore. Since they implemented the Rowena’s representatives, the gear you get from the lv60 coffer and the one you buy from the Centurio guy are now augmented and dyable.

Just grab the weekly marks listed in Ishguard and Kugane. Easy 200 seals.
