Customizable Artwork

Hi all!

Not sure if this has been discussed before or not or if this is the right place to discuss it but I was wondering if it would be possible to have crafted artwork canvases that not only support the current paintings you can buy in Idyllshire but also the user have the ability to capture screenshots and add then to a blank canvas to showcase in their home. There are a TON of wonderful vistas in this game and would love to showcase them in my home.

I would LOVE if we could use screenshots in framed paintings. I would love to be able to put screenshots showing my fc's achievements and captured moments from our organised events on the walls of the fc house.

But I suppose the risk is players could upload images that aren't even from the game. I'm not sure how SE could introduce this while eliminating the ability to upload images entirely unrelated to the game. Being able to do so may seem harmless at first but there would be some individuals who would upload very offensive material...and well this game does have an age rating, so that is a potential legal issue.

I have no idea if a game achieved the ability to use in-game screenshots as an in-game asset without permitting the use of images outside of that.

I doubt it would be possible since the screenshots are stored on your local client and the game would need some way to share the specific images you've picked with other players visiting your housing even when you're offline. The game's data storage would be even more clogged if it had to include every screenshot a player wanted to display in their housing.

You could make suggestions of different views to get added to the Joyous Painter's selection. While most of them are from the Sightseeing log, a few are not.

That is something i have been hoping for, you would have like a NPC, a painter that could let say make a portrait of yourself and you would get a framed picture of your character to display inside your house, just over your crystal tower throne and flatter your ego.... ahem.... that's just a random example of course

If they were ever able to integrate Lodestone more directly into the game, I could see this as a possibility. Link to character Lodestone profile pic with limited choice of gpose filters applied, maybe? Players would need to make certain their character is logged out in the outfit they want displayed in their portrait.

But actual screenshots I doubt would ever happen.

Since screenshots can include modded content it likely wouldn't be a good idea given how abused it would be by certain people in the modding community.

I think this is a fair compromise honestly. Give us some limited filters, poses, maybe some backgrounds, and have it be based off of the lodestone itself so client-side injectors can't affect the process. It'd be a cute little way to inject some personality into housing and would side step any issues that'd come with using just screenshots.
