And every single one of these events are literally nothing more than asset re-use and dialog.I mean, the reason they dont had time to spent on one (or two) large events was this little thing called "Covid19-pandemic" - they lost a couple of weeks (3 or 4, I think?) during the first lockdown until they had workstations running in peoples homes. My guess would be that when they decided what to cut, the choice was easly made to cut those seasonal events instead of "normal" content.
They simply lost some time that they wont get back.
That's it.
Lets not pretend that any of this should take tons of hours of development time.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
I am not very sorry, because I dont exactly agree with the "blame covid" for this choice.
World of Warcraft, to my knowledge is only seeing a minor delay in their expansion. (2 weeks?)
Another Square-Enix MMORPG didnt even miss a beat. (They do regular updates, events, campaigns, you name it.)
Meanwhile, FFXIV sees a 2 month delay plus they completely cut out an entire event?
So the two biggest comparisons to XIV, WoW and FFXI see little to no issues, but XIV takes a massive hit? Then on top of that, they choose not to do anything small, like adding in previous event items in-game or anything at all?
Seems a bit odd to me.
I'm actually glad the rainmaker hairstyle hasn't made a return. One of the few event items that's actually exclusive feeling and something you had to be there for.
Wasn't meaning Make it Rain for the mounts just like all around the various events.
They said from previous events so figured hey could be the car, could be some other mount I never saw.

I think the XV cross over is supposed to make a come back "soon".
I'd have to check but I'm pretty sure they say phrase it to mean previous versions of that particular event. And it's only ever the minor stuff like seasonal magicked prisms anyway - never the big things. They always go to Mog Station as the new year's event releases. (So the passive-aggressiveness from some posters about "they didn't give us new stuff but still added things to MS" makes no sense because it's an item that already exists from last year's event, not something they've put new time into making, and they're not going to hold it back arbitrarily.)
The FFXV event will run again at some point and the car will be available then, not in conjunction with a different seasonal event.

They warned there won't be Halloween even this year back in July, so in this regard I didn't except anything to begin with.
I really don't get why the Rainmaker haircut is still not repeated nor in the event that happens annually nor even in the Mog Station. I have it so I personally am not affected, but there are so many people asking for it for last three years that I can't believe they didn't see the demand. Did they just forget about its existence or what? /think
I haven't been able to get the umbrella from the gold saucer yet, so this'll help me in that regard at least.
But I can understand why they don't have more discounts because that's just giving people a way to enjoy the Gold Saucer less.
You have to engage with it less to get the items you want, and thus play the game less.
I'm surprised there aren't a few more new items for us to work for.
Make it rain has always been meh imho ( I have rain maker but im not against it returning)
and the Halloween event from last year did come back
so i can remember the true horror of CC elezen will never look this good

They could've given rewards from last event, perhaps? Or maybe try to listen to their playerbase asking for a hair for years. I can't see how this is a big effort, tbh.
