    So, craft leves

    Do we know when these are getting fixed?

    Currently we're still using old recipes (not the new ones) and the old recipes still require subcrafts in order to not fail horribly.

    Furthermore, unlike combat leves where you can stack 4 and head out to the camp, craft leves we complete 1 and then have to travel halfway across the world to hand it in. Although I'm sure I'm not the only one who exclusively spams the same city leves when they're available.

    Finally what the hell? Some crafts are literally just missing leves for certain levels. Weaver has no level 45 crafting leve and only 1 level 50 crafting leve. This needs to be fixed and I haven't really seen any comment on this although if someone has feel free to correct me and provide a link for people's reference.

    I think what makes this more annoying is that it at least appears fairly easy to fix. Unlike combat leves new mobs don't have to be added and programmed to spawn in certain places on the map. All that's required is for them to go through the recipes for each craft and pick 4-5 for each level range...no new npcs, enemies, materials, recipes it's literally just data entry x.x (although with current servers who knows)

    The worst part is that it's horribly inconsistent across crafts, too. When I was doing Armorer, the only level 50 leve was in Ul'dah and it required something like 35 Carpenter to do the synth. However, Armorer has two each of 40 and 45 leves, the latter two even being in town. And yet Weaver flat-up has no 45s. You'd think it'd be easy to design craft leves to have some symmetry to them, so each craft has, say, two level 45 leves, three level 40 leves, whatever, but instead SE seems to have gone the haphazerd route of making random leves without ensuring specific levels even have leves. It shows they were either very rushed or just plain and simply didn't care.

    This isn't even touching on the fact that some leves require guild support that you can't even get in the town the leve is in. What was SE's intent with that, anyway? That you'd just pick up a leve and leave it there until your travels happened to bring you to the town with the guild? Then that you'd just kind of leave it there until you wandered back? That's absurd at best. I guess it falls into the uber-casual Tanaka vision where players don't put any effort into the game at all, but there's really no reason the current team couldn't have taken an hour or two to fix the most glaring problems with craft leves (disabling subcraft requirements and guild support should be a one-line fix per issue).

    But that would've required the slightest bit of effort rather than the magical "we'll have it fixed in 2.0 we totally really honestly truly promise" handwave.

    I believe it's been said that the leves will be adjusted to use the new recipes (and thus not require subcrafts or guild support) in 1.22. I think the main reason it wasn't done before now is because they'll need to write up new lore to put in the leve description since they can't use the same items in many instances.

    Whether or not they intend to fill the level gaps in local leve offerings hasn't been addressed.

    I wonder how many people actually read that lore. I sometimes do and it just seems kind of forced and artificial. I know I apparently supplied Leveridge's ship with like 100+ leves' worth of weapons and armour, so like 500-700 items for a crew that's presumably no more than a couple dozen people. Maybe they use it for spiritbonding.

    For those of us who crafted to caps prior to 1.19, this has been something we've been complaining about since a few months after launch. It's much like the delivery system..promised but still hasn't materialized! I honestly don't know why they didn't spend the time to create new crafting leves for 1.19 onwards, after implementing leve history and company leves. /scratches head
