I always find it funny how people think the GCD must be so slow because of controller players, when the controller is the home of fast paced button mashing games...

Hi, PC player and controller user here. The controller has a learning curve but is actually very well designed and ergonomic and responsive. Plus you can expand your usefulness on the controller with the customisation options available. I use Extended Crossbars, which doubles the number of skills I have available without changing crossbars.

I much, much, much prefer it to keyboard and mouse. I can be very quick and responsive with a controller.

This is coming from a healer main who makes last minute rescues.

    The is not correct

Controllers take a different skill set but you are perfectly cabable of doing all the hardest content. I am doing my first Ultimate (TEA) on controller and having no issues and have cleared all savages since Alexander using a controller.
In some situatiations it is an advantage and in some situations it is a disadvantage. Its about adjusting your play style and how you manage mechanics and rotations.

I know a few players with pink percentiles on ultimates that are controller users TC, so no.

What does the speed of the GCD have to do with controller players, exactly?

I've been playing with controller on both PC and PS3/4 since launch, and I've never seen anyone else suggest that playing with a controller is somehow slower than kb+m.

It's not. With Expanded Xhotbars you have 32 skills available to press as quickly as anything. It's all down to your own muscle memory.
In some ways it's quicker than kb&m, what's slower is targeting other players, especially outside of the party.

You do realize that if you hate controller that much that you can literally plug a Keyboard and Mouse into your PlayStation right? You can even use a Bluetooth K&B or even a wireless K&B. The particular wireless K&B combo I have are both Logitech and use the same USB dongle. I've had them for a while but they work fine. They even have K&B combos on sale for relatively cheap. Logitech even had some available recently for around $30. The one problem you might have with the USB dongle is that you MIGHT need to plug it into a PC first and go through the setup process so that you can pair both the Keyboard and Mouse to it. So if you don't have a PC ask someone who does so that you can sync them to the dongle. Since I've synced mine to their dongle I haven't had to sync them since. Mice on PS4 can only utilize the Right and Left Mouse buttons and the Scrolling wheel. Middle click and for mice that have them, any buttons located on the sides, like the ones one MMO mice or mice with forward and backward buttons, can only use the default R/L and Scroll wheel. It's pretty basic but if you hate the controller that much then there ya go. If there's no way for you to use a PC to sync the peripherals to the dongle then I'd suggest getting a Bluetooth K&B. Maybe the dongle doesn't need syncing right out of the box when you buy them in a combo pack? Who knows? I just happened to have them handy from using them on my old PC. I tend to play on my new PC more than PS4 but there are days when I just want to relax and not be sitting at my desk all day in a chair and I'll play on PS4.

If you were to make statements like this along with saying controllers suck, I think peeps might be less likely to throw pitchforks at you. The current solution to this is to be mindful which skills you assign to L2.

Due to that, there is no doubt that players on controller are at a disadvantage, so what does that say about the controller players who are not only clearing but performing well in high-end content? Want to know something else funny about some controller players? Many still use a KB for chat, and have done so even during combat while maintaining good uptime. How the hell are they doing that? Maybe they can type with their feet! xD

Had to edit my post after checking your link. I was partially jesting, but this is amazing. It reminded me of when I lost a friendly tournament at a billiards playing Mortal Kombat to this guy with one arm. I was pretty good at those fighting games too, and that guy owned me without using cheese tactics. Hatsoff amigo!
Use an Xbox controller. Dpad is better placed for right hand use while moving with the left hand

A huge swatch of the player base plays on console, and this will continue. And we all do pretty well thanks.
