Ronin > Samurai
Guys, just a warning... "Élémentaliste" is what "Conjurer" translates as in French. You're not likely to see an "Elementalist" class as that would be nearly impossible to translate without conflicting with Conjurer. It would need an entirely different name.
I know Riku was technically a Thief, but her skills in FFX actually made her better classed as a Technician. She could dismantle mechanical things and rebuild them at super speed, poison and cast status ailments with ease and had a pretty fair bite. I liked her odd weapons.
Dancer, Summoner, Ninja, Thief, Samurai! In that order =D
Summoner!!!!
Thief, Red Mage, Blue Mage, Ninja, Samurai, Geomancer, Chemist, Beastmaster, Dancer.
I wouldn't want some jobs to be based off of certain old ones just because of the stigma that they may have (check out the Dragoon Pet poll thread if you don't know what I mean). Red Mage is a rather loaded job so I would much rather Mystic Knight (think Genesis of crisis core), nearly if not the same class from the past, but it's not so weighted down by tradition.
The same goes for Ninja. Ninja is not only loaded but it's rather specific. So instead I would want Assassin.
I want Dragoner, Corsair or Sky Pirate, and Samurai/Ronin also very much.
Classes like Saboteur or Synergist, they can be like they were in xiii and xiii-2.
I like this.
Why not? The opportunity and design is primed for Fencer => Red Mage to actually happen in a way that makes sense and is balanced without the boss-soloing idiocy we saw in FFXI. Besides, rapier and pimp hat fit well with each other. >.>Classes/Jobs I have absolutely NO desire to see return.
Red Mage
Anyway, yes, I want Red Mage as the job for Fencer. Arcanist could go either way, though I would also like a class that is related to machinery in some way. Flayer would be interesting, provided it played at around the same range DRG currently does.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
Zookeeper(new name)
Summoner would be exclusive for Zookeeper, Thm and Con classes
An engineer class that should start using a mallet instead of fist(everyone know Monks own martial arts) Pups own in "Performance Arts".

To the subject, I would like to mimic party members with Mime as a new class... (probably fall under performance arts as well, oops)
But like the FFIV lore as reference, a Mimic(or Mime) would have to be a master of all Art of War and Magic... would be a tough nut to crack open IMO.
