Suggestion: Achievements w/ title for 100%ing a zone

In several other MMOs, you get achievements for doing all of the quests in an area. I'd love to see that on FFXIV coupled with a zone-specific title. For large scale areas such as all the Thanalan + Ul'dah quests you'd get 'Ul'dahn' title, Gridania + Shroud for 'Gridanian', so forth and so on. For regions like the Steppe you could get a title akin to 'from the Steppe'.

I would love to see this implemented and I hope that you guys consider it. Currently, there is no achievement or reward for completing all of a zones sidequests.

    Other way of implementing it:

Upon completing this “finale” quest, title could be granted.

I wouldn’t care to include every single possible quest, just the major side story for that zone.

I really like this idea. It would go back and complete a lot of quests in a lot of areas if this was in game.

Problem is, many quests are changed or even outright removed from the game as time goes by and so this would cause issues for such achievements, as then where do you then draw the line at what would qualify towards the achievement? Only main scenario quests? (We already have main story quest achievements so this is redundant). Sidequests? Those are the ones most likely to be altered or removed. Just reward an achievement for amount of quests done in a certain area? Technically we already have that, but not by area.

Also expansions tend to add even more sidequests to existing areas which could potentially add even more complexity to implementing such achievements.

FFXIV 1.0 did have something like this, but those achievements are no longer obtainable due to how quests are handled being changed in ARR and many of the areas offered no longer plain existing in ARR, like Camp Emerald Moss.

It would be a nice thing to have, but sadly, I do not see SE adding such a system due to the above reasons.

I think such a system could work if they use the current triggers such as

    -mapping the realm achievements
    -MSQ achievements
    -mapping dungeons achievements
-completing dungeons(ARR has the side paths in dungeons and these are tracked separately by the game)
    -Max fate rank(ShB only atm)
    -the specific Fate achievements
    -Max beast tribe ranks

I would also put kill 1 of every enemy in a zone too but I don't think the game currently tracks that and might be more effort than worth.

All reasonable though fairly easy so not much of an achievement in the long run

Were they to do this, I would suggest a quest line that starts after all other major lines are completed. As an example, the quests lines in Rak’Tika from the two outposts unlock another where there is some back and forth between the two groups and the Ronan serpent. Upon completing this “finale” quest, title could be granted.

I wouldn’t care to include every single possible quest, just the major side story for that zone.

So make it based on the ones that have actual, comprehensible questlines rather than just one-off quests? That'd be cool too. Much easier for SE to keep track of most likely.

Warriors are forged in fire. It is the privilege of lesser tanks to light the flame.-
I was grateful to you for sharing your time with me during those very unstable times. I still remember the dazzlingly bright morning sunlight after a long night.-

Yup, more or less. All the more if they can incorporate various quest lines into something bigger.

Truth be told, more than achievements I would prefer actual tangible changes in the world. Thanalan could easily involve prettying up the silver/gold bazaar, or improving the refugee situation somewhat. Or alternatively a variety of rewards..some zones give emotes, others titles, others minions.

I don't think this is the time yet. There might be more quest in each region in the next two expansions. I see this as a set of titles we might get when the final expansion comes out, to get us to do everything and keep playing as the game hits end of life.

Why would they add more quests to regions that are completed? I haven't really seen this being done before in any major way.

    Either way, updated the OP!

Ahhh WoW kinda does this but it involves some weird phasing and it causes issues. I would hate to be unable to roleplay somewhere because of quest progress.
