    Issues with stable connection

Anyone else having the issue with a stable connection to ffxiv? Every time since the update I've had intermittent which cause the game to miss apes, boss attacks and messages. Even while logged in at my in game house data is being interupted when nothing else is connected. I narrowed down the devices connected and even still after calling my internet provider can't get it to stay on.

Yeah I’m having this exact issue. Ever since 5.35 hot fixes on the 15th my connection has been terrible. Lag like I’ve never seen. Running Puppets Bunker was impossible.
I checked other devices and games as well. Contacted my ISP and everything on my end is working normally. Just not this game.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Is the computer connected directly to the router through an ethernet cable or are you using WiFi? Additionally, where do you get disconnected in game?

Not sure if you’re asking just the OP or me too, but I’m on ps4 which is directly connected. Not being kicked from the game, just massive lag spikes. If I need to start my own thread for my issues please let me know. I’m new to this process. Just didn’t want to flood the thread with similar posts.

Hope you don't mind that I chip in as well like LunaJoy.

Having massive Lags (mostly in instanced parts of the gange) since patch on tuesday. Everyone of my friends living in Switzerland does in fact. Makes game unplayable for us.

For my connection that is having issues:

    - Playing on PC
    - Hooked up by 1Gbit Ethernet Connection directly attached to router

    Cheers

Good afternoon and thank you for the reply.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    - The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

-Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

    - Check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

-Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.

    Hi Dynratygus,

thanks for answering. Did all that, sadly without any effect.
ISP also told me that everything is working as intended on network side (all my other online games have zero issues with lag).

Yesterday the game was running perfectly, today it's always lagging everywhere I go.

Fyi: Having people set the Option : "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is a huge security issue...

    Cheers

Hi! I’m playing on ps4, so this won’t apply to me...

LunaJoy, thank you for the reply.

Please try the following PS4 trouble shooting:

    - Please make sure that "Cookies" and "JavaScript" are ENABLED on the PSN browser. If they are already checked, please uncheck them then recheck them.
    - The issue could also be from the "Date & Time" settings on your PS4.
    1. Close the FINAL FANTASY XIV game/application.
    2. Go to [SETTINGS] on your PS4
    3. Select [Date and Time], and "Set via Internet". (Please do not manually set the date and time.)
    4. Once the date and time have been updated, please restart your PS4 console.
    5. Once the console has fully restarted, please start the FINAL FANTASY XIV game/application.

Please make sure all other internet-enabled devices (including smartphones, laptop/desktop PCs, tablets, etc.) have been disabled and/or turned OFF to minimize game interference.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, please check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040
