Had nothing to do with Garuda being "Broken" as you put it, they said it was too inefficient for the fight, and I'm really inclined to agree with them, because

    A. You can avoid all of Garuda's most damaging moves.

    B. Taking her HP down faster means you leave less opportunity for her to take out the pillars, which are pivotal to surviving Ariel Blast. (To Carlify, less opportunities for her Mistral Shriek/Scream to damage pillars which happens no matter how efficient you are at taking out Plumes.)

They may have abused the developers oversight when defeating Garuda, but the overall point still stands they developed Garuda into another "speed run" fight making it impractical to bring in a low DPS turtle tank when time is of the essence and damage taken is mostly negligible.

I would also like to point out, most of these "Broken" Garuda fights were done with players who were skilled and wore powerful double/triple+ melded gear. If you paid attention to their posts during the different discussions they would say it took them numerous tries to get the timing and rhythm down where it was feesable for them to do. So it's not like we were going to see a bunch of all AF BLM groups doing this easily like people do with Ifrit.

Oh, no, please dont misunderstand, I get they are skill full players and no stratigy had been developed at the moment, I am by no means trying to belittle their feat. HOWEVER they openly admited to not taking a PLD, with only one healer, your WAR had to be moderitly buffed in defensive stats, this would obviously hinder offensive stats. Soo yet again, a simple break down. If WAR has lower ACC , lower chance of ANY attack landing = lower tp and more combos interupted by misses. Also, if attk and str stats are compromised for defensive stats , even IF the crits hit, they will be for less , gimping heals and hate controll. The ONLY stat that plays in war's favor in terms of tanking is VIT, for obvious reasons. But vit alone dose little for DPS. Again, gimp the DPS on war and you gimp war's ability to do what makes it such a viable tank. Soo when using a one healer set up, not only is it better to take a PLD for self heal abilities but because pld supports the party well and derives ALOT of hate by doing soo, that further supports my claim that if your gona gimp healing power to add to DPS , PLD is the obvious best choice. Not realy sure how this topic is up for debate, anyone who knows how the jobs work and current stats should already have an understanding. The only way I see taking a WAR tank over a PLD tank in this situation is if the person tanking is soo unfamiliar with PLD they just flat out suck on the job.
