Un-Autherized Access Warning

Upon trying to log in today, I recieved the warning above stating that due to "Suspicious Activity" I had to reset my password, yet they cannot say WHY exactly this is happening. You'd think they could at least give some detail if they cared about our account security at all.

So does this mean someone else from a different location was trying to access my account? Worth looking into a Security Token, even?

The security token is a great fallback for your security, although I'd be more worried about why you got the warning in the first place.

This has happened to me multiple times of my own faults for logging into my SE account while using a IP spoofer to watch Hulu in Canada. Did you ever attempt to log in on a different IP if not then a Security token wouldn't be a bad investment.

Yes get a security token, I wouldn't play an MMO without one these days.

You should have one if you bought the collectors edition.

Sadly no, I don't use any spoofers, nor fishy sites or programs. Thanks for the info, I think I'll invest in one. Rather pay $10 for peace of mind then lose it when I get hacked.

They did state why it happens: Logging in from a different IP/Machine (especially if the IP range is large enough it resembles an outside source, e.g someone else logging in on your account) will block the account. Using a token will prevent this from happening. This is why even if you know the person you can't ever log in for them or something unless they have a token.

Well thank you for the info, was just saying in the Email I recieved to reset my password they said they could not disclose the reasons why I was recieving the error.

I would never play an MMO without a security token, also 800 crysta isn't unreasonable when you factor in free international shipping, WoW authenticators cost more than that and you can grab those off a shelf in a high street shop. If memory serves it took mine about a fortnight to arrive and that's to the UK so depending on where they shop from yours may be faster.
