It's grrrrreat.
It's grrrrreat.
at some point we are gonna have expasnsions with no jobs id rather we get unique jobs and make future selections count rather than wasting it on Assassin. Is the other Job Astromancer and the tank Black Knight?

Where is the ambition?
THANK YOU!!!!Assassin is not a FF job. That said, Thief (Rogue) and Ninja are the FF equivalents of Assassin, as evident by their historic actions: Sneak Attack/Jugulate/Trick Attack/Hide/Assassinate/Poison themed skills, etc. These 2 jobs specialize in attacking from the shadows, moving quickly, and using throwing daggers/shurikens/venoms, etc.
People, before you suggest a new job, ask yourself: 1) is it a job from a previous game? If not, 2) does the job represent the fighting style of a major protagonist or major villain? 3) has the job idea already been dismissed by Yoshida (e.g. Necromancer)? If the answer to these 3 are NO, then it will never happen. All current FFXIV jobs are jobs from previous FF games, or are jobs that represent the fighting style of a major protagonist (Squall Leonheart's Dissida NT movelist = Gunbreaker).
Pretty sure there were Assassin NPC's/bosses in the first FF Tactics as well.
Yes there were some. However, they haven't really been a playable job outside of say Tactics advanced (Shadow from FFVI was listed as an assassin, but abilities were just straight up ninja) which just started throwing job bloat everywhere in my mind. If we are going to go with one of the less known jobs, I'd rather see something like a rune knight, or mystic knight (roughly what Cloud was going to be if they went with jobs in FFVII), or a balanced version of the Sword Saint for dps.
Yeah about 6 in general it had some rough translations/localizations.(had even seen Cyan being referred to as a dark knight long time ago, but hes def Samurai) Also the Assassins in FFT, they had some odd abilities i think. Its been a while since i played that game though so i could be wrong.Yes there were some. Concept looks fine.
It'll never be used, for reasons that have nothing to do with game development and everything to do with legal liability due to copyright infringement. It's the main reason authors and other creators ignore fan fiction that use their creations. Too much trouble sorting out the legalities after "you used my idea" appeared in court one too many times.
Thank you !
Yes, I like to make new and original concept while being fun, interesting and making sense.
It's a challenge for me too, and it will serve my future, because one day I would like to be Game Designer.
What I have done so far :
- Stormblood : Dryad (healer), Meteorologist (dps), Time Knight (tank)
- Shadowbringer : Pyrotechnician (healer), Scholar rework, Assassin (dps)
I didn't get mass reviews on my work and it's understandable, because it's a lot of work to read it all.
But, overall I got positive comments which is good for me ^^
I will maybe continue next year with Monk rework (already have ideas), and/or Savior (tank) based on Final Fantasy XIII trilogy.
Thanks !Concept looks fine.

Square Enix can hire me then
I'm ready !
Keep in mind Yoshi-P also said he is open to introducing new Jobs exclusive to FF14 as well years ago so the development team is open to introducing new jobs into the FF series when they feel like it. The already existing Jobs in FF series are just easier to add into FF14 because they have a set concept and lore from past FF games.
