    Whether PL should be in-game or not is a separate discussion from what this thread was addressing based on the title and original post. Again, personally I grinded all my jobs without the use of PL (cept for taking glad from 10-20).

    I just take issue with the logic that links "unable to do Ifrit" (for an example) with "was PLed". Unless you ask every person you party with "were you PLed" you have no idea if they are or not. People are just seeing a level 50 who isn't very good at their job in * fight and assuming it's because they were PLed.

    There might be a flaw in this argument... or I am missing something. Is it possible to PL my Fisher? Miner? Weaver? Any DoL/DoH job?

    or is it only meant to catch up for fighters? ; ;

    Well DoH and DoL aren't jobs used within parties or story/endgame content. You don't need to catch them up in the same way you need to catch up a fighter. If they were suddenly used for raids and stuff I guess there'd be a point here.

    I think they will be used in the upcomming Hamlet defense.

    Also, having high level DoH at least helps with repairing all the high level equipment.

    Oh well ^^;

    Yeah I get what you're saying. I think it just comes down to how you need a fighter to play with friends but not a DoH if that makes sense? If we ever get that party crafting though who knows.

    In the Linkshells I have, all I hear are people asking to PL each other. Getting to be quite sad now.

    In my shell, asking to get PLed will get you booted. If your there and it happens, fine, but never ask.

    Some folks just expect to be PLed by their linkshell mates. The problem in my eyes, isn't the result of folks PLing to 50 in and of itself. Good players get PLed too. We all know end game is vastly different from leves, for example. The problem comes from allowing people to have everything handed to them. Folks come to expect that. Ultimately it comes down to this: I'm not gonna play the game for you, learn to earn shit on your own.

    I wish my shell followed the same principles as yours in regards to PLing. We hardly PL anyone but sometimes new people come in, ask for a PL. If we give it to them, they stay, if we don't they just leave the pearl off and move on until they need help. SE needs to implement a LS Exilement thing that works, no matter where you are.

    But yes. Some good players get PL'd cause LVing is boring , some don't. It's the way it is.

    Getting PLed doesnt make the player good or bad.. you just are that way based on your awareness and ability to learn. I've PLed new players who turned out to be great players and good friends. I also have good friends who refused to get PLed but are absolutley terrible to the point of i wont even play with them even though they are rl friends lol.

    I see OPs points but there are way more factors then just getting a PL that make a person bad or good at this or any game.
