I got powerleveled to hell on my THM and my MRD. Not that it matters, since I leveled them ages ago back when THM in parties was Sacrifice spam and MRD had aoe melee attacks, and I had to relearn how to play each class anyway. But that part clearly doesn't matter because me being powerleveled somehow taints me? Personally, I'd rather have a powerleveled WAR on Ifrit who knows how to play the job effectively than someone who ground it to 50 on raptors and beastmen who thinks tanking Ifrit is anything like killing trash mobs.

Not like grinding prepares you for endgame anyway. The dynamics are totally different and applying the former to the latter can actually be more dangerous than simply not knowing the latter.

I understand all points. I can agree with the OP who loves the game and doesn't want the experienced ruined for people. I have never been offered a PL. It is also very pain staking trying to gain enough lvl's so i can continue the story (Wich by the way is awesome in my opinion). I have wanted to quit many times because it just seems to impossible at times to reach lvl 50, but the higher lvls around me, and the story keeps me playing. I see the potential FF14 has, and I see all the cool things that come with being a higher lvl and I want those things for myself. So I grind my Leve's day after day ( with a break here and there.) waiting for contact from a guild signaling the start of a new main quest. My only gripe is FF14 doesn't have the amount of quest's I'm use to in other MMO's. Maybe that's what sets FF14 apart from the rest. Just gets hard and tedious, and boring at times, specially since most ppl on my server speak everything but English.

You had two whms in grind parties? That's a first, most groups shout for two hours to find a single healer.

Is OP trolling? Because even without a PL you can lvl a job to 50 in a couple days.

Yeah, but somehow you're more "pure" if you mindlessly grind on trash mobs to 50 rather than sit back and let others mindlessly grind trash mobs to 50. That way, you somehow know how to play your class better in endgame.

Fun fact, first time I ever used WAR for tanking, I'd never really tanked before. I leveled MRD before the class overhaul, so I had nothing to draw on for playing the class. I took a minute, looked at my action bar and the skills I had available to me (and what I could cross-class), proceeded to work out a basic strategy, and then never lost hate. While keeping up in the parse. Despite mediocre-at-best gear (Ifrit axe + full AF + jewelry) and no prior WAR tanking experience. Was I spectacular? Not really. But there was no denying I was competent.

Good players save time by being PLed. Bad players wouldn't learn anything anyway.

There are better examples to use than tanking on warrior i mean to say.
