Basically anyone who weren't Anglo-Saxon was considered '' lesser ''.
Today people call it '' white '' and the definition has been broadened quite significantly but that's a VERY recent development.
Pretty much, but a lot of white immigrants can/could "fit" in easier here. All it really takes is a generation or two. Even more so if they were protestant. What you look like is a big factor.

I know Irish were discriminated against pretty heavily as well - in Britain too. By the way, I'm a little irish from my dad.. I'm pretty much full on American. On paper, my name is completely anglo.

The mistreatment of the irish is very much looked over, and it baffles me that it's not spoken about more in history classes.

    People are quick to forget.
Considering how extremely bloody Europes history is too I think it speaks volumes for how much people actually can move on and end violent/ bad cycles.
I never really see people talk about how the Japanese or even just Asians in general were mistreated too especially during WW2 in the US a lot of people don't even seem to be aware altogether.
There just seems to be quite a lot of whitewashing of history.
