For someone who is done op sure keeps coming back.
And to everyone, please don't assume that instanced housing will be a magical fix. Replace the wards with precisely the same number of instanced houses and what has been fixed? Don't just assume that their servers can handle unlimited instanced houses

Instanced housing doesn't work the same way wards do. It's load on entry, much like dungeons and other instanced duty content. Player wants to enter - instance gets loaded on the instance server. Player leaves - instance gets removed from the instance server. A player can't be in 2 different instances at the same time (short of having multiple service accounts). It's a very efficient use of server resources.

Wards on the other hand are like the open world zones. They are always there, player present or not. It doesn't matter how many of the 60 houses in a ward are owned or how many players are present in that ward - the ward is going to take up the same server resources constantly as long as servers aren't down for maintenance. Sadly, many of the wards are empty of players more often than not. It's pretty rare to see more than two or three players in a ward at a time short of a decent sized FC getting together to meet. Once a player enters a house, they're on an instance server and no longer in the ward. Our house interiors are already instanced.

You're right that technically the servers can't handle unlimited instanced housing but that's not going to be a problem unless every player decides they're going to sit in their housing at the same time. That's extremely unlikely to happen because housing itself doesn't offer much to do in the way of content and not every player is even logged into the game at the same time. If I look at my FC roster, friends list and linkshells, it's rare to see more than 10% of those online to be in housing whether it's the wards, a house or an apartment. The majority are in other locations.

If instanced housing was going to create problems for server resources, we'd see that problem in the MMOs that use instanced housing. It's not happening, not even in ESO where every player can own every single housing location in the game if they want (right now that's over 40 separate housing options).

    Tips for camping:

-Be courteous. If you win a plot, lose a plot, or are joined by another camper please remember not to act cruel or entitled. The other players deserve the same chance you do

-Check city aetherytes every 4-6 hours (when auto demolition comes back, check at the top of every hour exactly, right as it rolls over from --:59)

-from the city aetheryte plaza, choose 'Residential District Aethernet,' check the directory page for all 42 wards and sub-wards, plots for sale show a price in white

-Goblet plots will be abandoned most frequently and camped by the fewest others, conversely, lakefront and beachfront properties are very likely to be taken by relocators

-Use the numpad (with numlock on: 0,0,0,0,4,0) or a controller to target/navigate the placard dialogue rather than the mouse, this avoids 'large mount' griefing

-Go to Party -> Search Info -> and change "Online" to "Busy" to automatically reject all tells and trade offers

-Conventional wisdom says that a plot will not become available until between hour 8 and hour 22 of the timer. So if you see a plot become vacant or know where someone relocated from, return in 8-10 hours with the goal of camping 12-14 hours, rather than camping the full 22. The only benefit of camping the first 8 would be possibly getting the tip on someones old plot when they relo into your camper

+FC specific: give multiple ranks the ability to purchase land for the FC, allowing you to camp multiple plots at one time and/or to camp plots in shifts

This is the best advice I can give a camper. Hopefully something here helps. Aside from this, do everything in your power to log on as servers come up on any new-wards day. Keep in mind that 8-10 hours after servers go live is when the relocated houses will begin opening, so treat that as something of a 'round 2'

    Good luck!
