Just saying this now since I know a lot of people were worried about it from eureka
I know that you still lose stuff, but you can not rank down anymore, which means when you're at cap it won't have any affect on you.
It's better than Eureka's elvl

Unhappy with how they implemented Mahjong? -> http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/381358-Mahjong-is-the-most-depressing-mini-game-you-ve-added-to-XIV

Yeah, it sounds like a fair way of managing it. Still a penalty and an incentive to play well and be cautious, but you can only go down so far and there are checkpoints.

I hate this place so far. Its basically harder on non-healing dps than any other job. Like Eureka, I feel like I'm being forced into RDM or Tank again.
Edit: It gets better for a dps when you get some cure spells and defensive spells/essences.

Eureka, but with Ghimlyt Dark aesthetics.
I'll wait until I have more than half an hour to play in it to give a better opinion, but so far I'm not too enthused.
I am playing as BRD with a healing and defence action and am having no trouble with dying unless I pull to many mobs. try farming the action with the low level mobs then trying the higher areas.

Not really a fan of this content...been at it for the last 3 hours or so and it really does just feel like Eureka again without the annoying Magia board and enemies that soak up damage.
It relies on FATES for everything. You don't get merits(exp) for killing mobs, only clusters or whatever they're called that you can use to turn in for items like the mount and emotes. While the FATEs do spawn much faster than the ones in Eureka, they still aren't guaranteed to drop the item you need for the weapon.
If I understand right, you'll need 60 for the weapon upgrade. 20 of each of the 3 kinds of memories.
These can also be obtained from FATEs in older areas outside of Bozja as well.
I kind of want the resistance gear but after I get the coat at least, I'm out.
Player
I plan to upgrade my Resistance Weapon outside of the place. It sounds like a hellhole.

Just got to rank 5 and it's not terrible. You're apparently guaranteed a drop from the FATEs and even soloing I haven't had many problems. Travelling does feel kinda slow even with mounts, though.

Some aspects are better but over all I'm already struggling to stay awake. I did enjoy Eureka while it was new but it did get to be a *yawn* boring by the time I started on my 3rd weapon. I couldn't take it anymore after the 4th weapon. Bozja is already feeling like that all over again.
I made it to rank 5 and I had to leave because I was literally yawning and getting a headache.

Grouping is difficult in it, since during the large scale fights not everyone gets in and then most ppl drop party to group with ppl who got in. I understand why they did it that way, but it makes pre-mades or finding a decent group non-existent.
I led a party in their this morning and running a party is an ongoing process. They either need to make it more party friendly or just get rid of the need for parties period and reduce it to solo content. The way it is now, its going to reduce the ppl who actually want to form a party and prevents you from doing content with your friends and guildmates.
