    Report on newest Dragonsung

Patch 5.35 upgrades the Skybuilders' 475 tools by pretty much the expected amounts, with one exception. Here's the cooking mainhand by stages (no melding is allowed on any iteration):

Dragonsung Frypan; starting tool stats from the earlier origination process:

    ILVL 475
    CFT 770
    CTL 421

Augmented version, one stage of the 5.35 upgrade:

    ILVL 485
    CFT 794
    CTL 434

Final Version, now named "Skysung Frypan"

    ILVL 500
    CFT 830
    CTL 455
    CP 6

The final version's addition of 6 CP is almost certainly a nod to the standard tool penta-melders, whose general review of the 475 tool without such was approximately, "poo."

The 500 tool is certainly competitive, and can be used in most cases interchangeably with a penta-melded Aesthete 490 Frypan. That said, the hassle of getting the 500 is there.. so it comes down to which hassle does the crafter want.. omg the horror of crafting Aesthete's hooked to penta-melding, or omg the horror of the Skybuilders' Scrip currency hooked to the trip through the Oddly Specific maze.

I still don't see a reason for the existence of these M.H. alternatives; but then, my Lalas don't let me out much... Are there any items which can ONLY be crafted via Dragonsung mainhands, that are worth a hoot?

In the end, for me, this item is trailer queen and will likely remain so. Shame really, the creators could have had SOOO much fun with it, like, one time in a hundred or so, an item crafted with a Dragonsung MH has +20% more stats, permanently. Boom, there it is. Now THAT would be fun!

Curious if the new tools glow at all? Or are set apart visually at all?

RIP. Guess I'll take my time working on them then. Hopefully, they will glow eventually.

Can someone tell me where to fish fishers gobbiegoo? There wasn’t really any location in the text except that I have to use the sky balls again and there’s nothing online yet. I don’t want to spend ages in the wrong spot.

Well we know they are getting another upgrade in 5.4 and possibly 5.5 so I think at the moment it’s just keeping pace with the BIS and they’re building up to that truly special glowy one..

But yes I’m disappointed with the whole thing so far. I like that they’re dyable and they do look good but ‘go collect 600 of these’ and ‘go make this item 50 times’ is less interesting than some of the level 30 job quests were.

Seems a bit generic and phoned in at the moment, because they don’t want to put the work in to differentiate between a botanist and a blacksmith.

I think it will come down to personal choice.

people do relics out of boredom, or a completionist personality and 'gotta have it' or, just to show off.
Are the relic end result tools meldable? If not, I suspect its just something to try and keep crafters busy since they'll be pretty obsolete fast like most gear
