The New Housing System is Terrible

I meant permanently lock housing to FCs only, forever. I know it’s not what people want, but that situation is exactly why it should exist: houses remained open several days.

I was in Tonberry like..an hour after launch and there were only a handful of S houses left..maybe 3 or 4 per city. That’s fine, but I wish there were more requirements to having a large house or medium house, such as say, at least 2 accounts (not characters/alts) for small, 6 for medium and 10 for large...with said accounts logging in at least once per month to stop demolition timer.

I’ve said it before on other threads, but my FC of 6 really only has 2 really active members now with 3 weekly appearances and two once-a-month pop ins... but everyone has at least one house that we really don’t NEED, but are not willing to give up randomly. This includes 2 Larges.

Would give it up for instanced in a heartbeat.

That basically turns FCs into landlords. Obviously you can't use NEED in the absolute sense here, because obviously you can live without it and you can play the game without it. Needs are always conditional anyway. So contextually, how can you defend the position that an FC needs a house and an individual does not?

I would also prefer instanced, but I don't see why you think they should take away the possibility for individuals to have houses in the current system.

Maybe need in the sense that housing gates game features. If Square honestly believes housing is a prestige thing then they need to decouple plot gardening, workshops, subs, and airships from ward home ownership.

Only because the volume of housing is woefully under supplied. It simply doesn’t make sense in the modern age of gaming for a player to not be able to get a house if they have all the in game requirements to do so. And since SE can’t provide enough housing for this, they simply shouldn’t offer it. And yes I am saying this knowing full well how hypocritical I am as an owner of 3 houses.

It makes no sense in game why an internationally (interplanar even) recognized Hero loaded with gil would not have at the very minimum a plot of housing available.

To;dr if it was an issue of server space/strain, it should never have been on the table.

I had some RP plans for a house but due to how terrible XIV's chat system is that never panned out. If I could get a full refund on my alt's small I'd give it up right now but that's not how the system works so I'll be holding onto it until the demolition timer takes it.

If instanced has no demolition timer I'd take the loss for this.

I love when people quote me and are dead wrong. Once a FC house is purchased, they can kick off the 3 other FC members and have a FC with one person own a house. It gives me the warmest of fuzzies, thanks.
