This need a priority fix. I'm on Elemental with a few friends and I constantly see about 25% to 50% of the instance sitting in base, doing absolutely nothing, and waiting for certain CEs to spawn. I also see people constantly join the instances and immediately shout these lines into chat:
"How long until Castrum is up?"
"When was the last time Gabriel/Lyon/Pyro occurred?"
"Is there any cluster farm parties?"
They will immediately leave if it just occurred, they'll sit in base if it's been a while since the occurrence, or (especially in the matter of the last case) a case of both if people refuse to answer or give them an answer they don't like.

This is literally a repeat of Eureka and it causes skirmishes (or FATEs) to have too much HP for the people remaining trying to clear them out. (Not including the people trying to kill certain mobs to spawn either Gabriel/Lyon/Pyro skirmishes or cluster farm.) This "AFK leech" issue from Eureka respawned itself into Bozjan Southern Front and there's no active work arounds for it. SE needs to implement a similar anti-AFK measure into Bozja as they did for the Ishgard Restoration area, since that addressed quite a bit of the hoarding issues in there.

Another issue they need to address is the constant instance hopping people are doing to fish for a fresh spawn of 1v1 or Castrum. Start putting queue penalties on people who are exploiting this feature for whatever reason they're doing it. (I've seen some do it for the achievement, while others do it to troll.) People need to be motivated to do this content or otherwise, people will use this an excuse to leech off of other's progress by constantly switching instances.

They could add an activity timer based on whether you have been doing skirmishes or not, if its been long enough idk what you consider, then maybe they should scale the CE(if they already do not, im guessing they do) to the amount of people inside them, so for instance if you havent been doing CE, you shouldnt get an invite. some times ive entered and got an invite before i even got my cache items straight before heading into the field, so i mean yeah ill join it since it popped, but it might not be a fair way because it just rewards people for AFKing

The leeching is definitely an issue, but the instance boots you out the moment your online status updates to AFK. What they could do is lessen the time it takes to update while you are in BSF.

You also need to factor that players can be accessing their lost actions at camp. I'm not saying this is always the case, but if someone is standing near a chest, chances are they are fiddling around with their item weight. During this time, there is nothing the player can do to even stop themselves from leeching from their party members that are actively participating on the frontlines even if they wanted to.

In FFXI, I remember something they had implemented was if you were too far away from the party, you would not gain any exp or spoils from the mobs they were engaged with. Likewise, if you are engaged with a mob far away from them, they don't get anything either. I wonder if they can implement something like that. Being able to trade lost actions and items with your party members would also be godsend to reduce the amount of trips needed to go back to camp, and encourage groups to stick together.

It works in the matter of activity. There's an actual easy work around with this timer with a certain feature in-game. (I will not explicitly give details for the sake of preventing others from knowing it.) This actually blocks the inactivity timer from starting and it's been a commonly known thing since the days of Eureka. I'm surprised that SE hasn't patched this with the Fishing Boat or Ishgard Restoration, since I know people actively used this to avoid being booted.

I do take into factor that people are looking at their actions and deciphering what to use on (x) class for whatever intended purpose in Bozja. Yet, when you remove these people out of the equation, you still have a large group of people actively sitting or walking around spawn, doing absolutely nothing towards contributing to the instance, and leeching off of the spawned CEs, Castrums, and 1v1s from the other players actively working in the instance. My group of friends has barely got one or two of the 1v1 achievements in the past two weeks, despite constantly grinding out these instances for 6 to 10 hours a day, because of people instance hopping or purposely AFKing in spawn winning the 1v1 Gacha system. I have even encountered several instances where, despite spending a while spawning the skirmishes for the 1v1 CEs, our party gets denied entry into the special CEs and the leechers reap the benefits of our work. If it wasn't for the sheer fact that cluster farming was profitable right now, then we would've given up on this content a week ago.

It's an issue that's been piggybacked from Eureka and made worse in Bozja. The current system rewards people for being lazy, while punishing others for running around the battlefield and clearing out skirmishes, and doesn't give any incentive for players to do anything outside of leveling alternative classes. If you have all level 80 classes (since many did it for the Amaro mount) and capped for the week, then what's the point being in Bozja outside of Castrum?

The current CE system is either based on the amount of people registered or active at the start of the CE's fight. Skirmishes' difficulties are based on the amount of people in the instance (except the people in Castrum) and it's mainly scaled on HP.

Can you blame people for that? Players figure out pretty quickly what works to get things done. Castrum won't respawn once it's been cleared, so if you are trying to farm coins for the armor or just need to do Castrum for the story, staying in a place where it's been done or is going is a complete waste of time. Blocking instance hopping with that design would make this just miserable for people.

Cluster farming is... I mean, from r1 to r11 I got 19 clusters. Around 40 minutes in a cluster farm party got me well over 100. Fragments work a similar way. The core problem here is that the rewards are heavily siloed between activities (Clusters on mob X, fragments on mob Y, memories in HW fates). Once you care about something more than mettle, CEs are not that rewarding. Why would you expect people to spend time doing something that doesn't net them any rewards when they could be doing something else that does?

Castrum respawns an hour after is been cleared or fresh instance. It keeps respawning. I have done two castrum's in the same instance.

However, it doesn't seem to respawn when it failed. Joined an instance where Castrum spawned but was abandoned fifteen minutes ago, did some skirmishes and CR to pass time.

For the next 100 minutes, Castrum did not respawn, but there were a lot of 10+.

I'm taking Lore way too seriously. And I'm not sorry about that.

    It does

Was in an instance yesterday when Castrum failed due to not enough people entering. Instance started and everyone just left. An hour after it closed Castrum popped again

If your instance is locked though, Castrum will no longer spawn
