CLL spawns hour after enough rank 10 player enters the instance.
There is no other spawn requirement.

But the worst thing is, that very often CCL is spawning while any other CE is running
So it often has just 3 players joining because everyone else is in a CE and can not escape without losing mettle.

That's a huge flaw and they need to fix it, otherwise you will get more and more frustrated player who waited a hour for nothing.

That's not really an issue anymore. With the Castrum spawntime no longer a secret, usually enough people in the instance are keeping track of the time. Even if you don't know yourself you can always ask in Shout when Castrum will be up. Just plan around it and don't join any CE like 10 minutes before CCL will pop.

This weekend it was just the other way around: With everyone planing for Castrum, some normal CEs often had only like 1-3 people in their queuing list. We have already shifted from "Oh no, only a handfull of people are queing for Castrum, guess we won't make it" to "Oh no, there are more of 48 people for Castrum, I hope I'll make the cut".

Personally, I didn't enjoy it. Tried it for 2 days and decided it's not worth my time.
I'm only interested in completing my relics (4x). The best way to complete relics is Heavesward fates.
With how easy the 2nd step is, I might go for a 5th relic.

Why is it that Castrum groups will only let you run content with them if you are part of their socialist group. I just messaged a player today and was told no because he was waiting for randoms from that CEM discord. This should not be a requirement to just do content. I ran and actually got my Castrum clear from a regular PF group. Now, the only way to do this is to be forced to conform to their whims.

This is not true. No one can stop you from queuing and going inside. Once you are inside all you need to do is asking for a party.

It really blows when 2-3 Castrums spawn all at once and the players in the zone are forced to split between small groups that are doomed to fail. Castrums timers need to adjust to the players with in the zone and scale when the player base is small in the zone to ensure healthy longevity. Heavensward zones also take away players from doing the new zone due to the drop rate being 75% faster for memories. If you lower the drop rate and increase in the new zone players will come back again.

What? That's not even possible. There is only one Castrum up per instance and the next one will spawn 60 minutes after the last one finished.

This is a bit of a shame, because Bozja, and specifically the Castrum Lacus Litore finale, has as much content as your typical Alliance Raid.
The format itself is just like an Alliance Raid, but with more interesting mechanics.
It has as much Story content as an Alliance Raid and it's related quests.
Then you get decent, current gear for completing it.

People clamour for this kind of content that we only every odd patch for a maximum of three per expansion, and here's a fourth one!
They also tend to complain that everything in the game is instance based with no reason to actually play in the overworld, and here's an Alliance Raid that relies on exploration gameplay to enter!

The problem with people completing their Relics via HW FATEs is that once they've done so, they have less reason to play and less to gain from doing Bozja.

I know what Bozja is and what it offers, I'm simply not interested in doing it. My opinion does not stop people from playing the content and enjoying it.

Calling it "a bit of a shame" is about the least dramatic thing I could possibly have said.

It's a shame because I've seen a lot of people say this, and yet you can't know what it offers if you haven't played the Castrum yet. Unless you watch it on twitch or something i guess.
They're put off by the initial grind (even though it's of much of one) so never learn just how much content, and vital story exposition, is included.

Would you reject an entire Alliance Raid series claiming 'I know what it offers and I don't want to play Alliance Raids anymore'?
Would you give up on the Nier Raids just because you started the quest chain but decided you didn't like running pointless fetch quests, before you actually managed to unlock the raid itself?

The Castrum is essentially our fourth Ivalice Raid.
