I’ve been playing 2 years and bought my first house this morning. Logged in with no problems and had a huge choice of plots. Almost all were available in the first ward I visited. Got a lovely house on the beach front. Couldn’t be happier.

Im shutting down my acct if SE doesnt come up with a fix soon. Im dooooone lol
Keep in mind that this game cannot be calibrated for any single player, and the medium is not you.
You are correct. I logged in at 12 PM (that is when server came back online for EU players), the login button was buggy and did not show up, then when I logged in, I had to wait in a queue, then when I was #400 on the queue, I get a world is not available, so the server kicked me out and I had log back in. This time I got back in fast, checked Shirogane Wards, all taken, checked other zones only 1 house was left in Mist, but as I was heading there, it too got taken. This all happend between 12:00 PM and 12:13 PM.For most people it's not because they didn't get one. It's because the reason they didn't get one is entirely out of their control and entirely within SE's abilities to control. I haven't heard one person yet complain about having to lose sleep to try and get one. People are complaining about the fact the servers can't handle even a moderate influx of people trying to log in and just crash and cause errors. I am willing to bet that if most of us got straight on, ran to the plot and didn't get it we'd be like "OK, maybe next time". But when you get CB'd by error messages which prevent you from logging in then of course you're going to be pissed, and rightly so.
Now thing about people going each day to work...
Housing? For them it is a mysterious ingame mechanics i think :')
But they have to work, else they cant eat, sleep, pay internet bill, pay subscription to play the game (this one, yes) and maybe sometime buy anything from cash shop (for this game... yes)
And in the same time, SE watches our ask for more houses => https://i.imgur.com/mge22xE.jpg
I did the same, my Login button would not show up so I restarted the game, it took around half a minute to show up this time, then didn't even have character data and sat in a 800+ player queue, THEN when I logged (after sitting in a glitched loading screen for another minute) in I was stuck in first person mode (I never use it so can't say that was an oversight on my end) and couldn't click anything (not even the menu option) for about another minute; by the time I COULD click on anything every ward was full save for a few small plots. There was very little I COULD have done after that. You are correct. I had that in 2016 when they added more wards, I had class and when I came home, I logged in and found out that all homes were already taken. I asked my FC member how fast they were taken and she told me that within the first 25 minutes all homes were taken. I never stood a chance that day. Today I took my laptop with me and was ready to log in and still did not get any.Now thing about people going each day to work...

This is exactly the issue. Friend of mine got a 5006 error followed by a second lobby server error. She's running a damn good laptop while I have a 4k capable PC with a 980ti. Both of us have solid internet. Now I don't say any of this to brag but to emphasis our loss is entirely on SE's abysmal servers. There was literally nothing either of us could do differently. For most people it's not because they didn't get one. The main issue with isn't the server instability. Its the fact that there's still a handful available and a much larger playerbase. Even if servers ran perfectly a lot of people would still end up without a house because there simply is no where near enough.
Everyone who pays a subscription to this game should be able to buy a house WHEN they want to if they have the gil, period.
There isnt a cap on the number of people who can run a new raid or pvp for the entire expansion, its just housing that's broken this way.
This. I was prepared to run a gauntlet for housing and to even fight what is affectionately known as 'lobby savage' in order to secure a spot to log in. What I was not prepared for was the log in button flat out not working for two straight minutes after the patch dropped, forcing me to restart my entire computer to try and make it work. Nor was I prepared earlier when the patch barely even downloaded because their archaic server technology couldn't handle so many pre-loading at once, forcing myself and many others to start the download from scratch MANY times in the process. And though I was prepared for the scalping, the fact that it's SO prevalent simply further highlights the issues at play here. There wouldn't BE a scalping market if the demand wasn't so ludicrously high to begin with. For most people it's not because they didn't get one. We need instanced housing. I know the developers are still very much in love with the idea of neighborhoods but I've almost never seem them work in the idealistic way they imagine, and frankly they seem to be too much memory to render if we can only have 12 wards plus sub divisions per area.

Five people in my FC got the 'Failed to validate' error on the launcher forcing them to delete the launcher file and update which resulted in a long enough delay to place them in queue. From what I'm hearing we weren't alone either, the bugs seemed to be out in force this particular patch which is unfortunate considering how anticipated Shirogane has been. It's almost like Early Access all over again. This is exactly the issue. Friend of mine got a 5006 error followed by a second lobby server error.
