Me, someone who doesn't care about housing:

Didn’t Yoship said they are planning to relocate all housing wards into dedicate severs so they can further expand the wards?
The plan is interrupted by the Covid 19 and 5.35 is merely a band aid until epidemic is over
Have some patience?

2 years for HW's 2 years for SB 1+ year for ShB. How much patience should people have? Just asking for the people clicking placards.
All housing has been is a never ending bandaid and a bunch of apologists.
I'm just gonna say this, I finally got my first house after trying since they were implemented back in 2.3. For years, I couldn't buy a house bc of scalpers selling houses for way more than they were worth, spent hours clicking housing signs and finally gave up getting a house and transferred to a smaller server. How long ago was 2.3? Five years ago roughly. It shouldn't have taken me five years and a transfer to get a house and I know that I was incredibly lucky bc I could have disconnected as soon as I logged in to be sent to the back of line, which yes, has happened to me multiple times in the past.
I can't comprehend how they're still okay with wards. You never see people to create a community feel like they dreamed of. There is no dedicated shout chatter in wards and feel the most dead places to be in the game. So why are they dedicated to that dream? And I know that once Ishgard housing comes, I'll never get a plot there unless I spend several years trying. And who knows if this game will still be around.
Happy I got a house, but also, screw waiting this long and having to go through this nightmare. As their players we deserve better than this.

Good news, it didn't have to. I got my first house back in stormblood and since that time have had many many different houses on many servers and even different characters. It's not THAT hard to get a house. You just have to actually put effort in. I realize this game's community wants everything simply handed to them and don't want to work for anything but that doesn't mean getting a house isn't possible.

The stars align for you so therefore "not THAT hard"? It has nothing to do with wanting things "handed to them".Good news, it didn't have to. The problem isn't the effort. The problem is that the system itself is flawed and full of holes that create a miserable experience for players.
Sitting in front of a plaque with 5 other players and just spamming the purchase requests praying some dingus not to just relocate on that spot obliterating your invested time is NOT effort.
Because you had an easier time compared to other players in a housing roulette doesn't mean that experience is shared by most.

Housing is an example of this game's community wanting everything handed to them, yes, but it's not the only example. 99% of people in this game do not want to put effort into anything. They won't even bother to learn how to play their own classes and if they can't clear something while mashing random buttons then they cry that it's too hard and needs to be nerfed. The housing uproar is just another symptom of the underlying problem, the fact that this game is overrun with lazy toxic casuals who can't be bothered to even put forth the tiniest bit of effort into anything.
Nobody's forcing you to stand there spamming a placard. In fact, you don't even need to do that. Last time I bought a house that way, I didn't stand at the placard for any more than 10-15m at a time. I would click for a bit, go run a dungeon or something, or two, then click for a little bit, rinse and repeat. When the house was finally ready for purchase, I was there, and it was mine. The problem isn't the effort. The invisible timer is bad and should be made visible so that people can plan properly. But other than that the housing system is fine. It's exclusive and limited and that gives it a nice sense of prestige and specialness that I appreciate. All you need to do is be vigilant and willing to put in the effort to get what you want.
What prestige? No one but your friends knows you own one. And no one but them would care. I certainly don't run around looking at the names on houses and make a list of those super special people that bought a house. It really just sounds like you are defending this cause you wouldn't feel special if everyone got one.Housing is an example of this game's community wanting everything handed to them, yes, but it's not the only example. 99% of people in this game do not want to put effort into anything.
