What? I find the opposite tbh. I'm breezing through it by equipping a cure spell as a DNC. Unless I overpull like 5+ things, I can keep up aoeing small packs and healing.
I've gotten an umbrella, a minion, a desktop version of the minion from my lockboxes. My fiance managed to get 2 minions AND two of the mounts in the lockboxes

Its gotten better now that I have healing spells. At first I wasn't getting anything but potions. Once I got 99 stacks of Cure III and realized the actions persist through different instances, it got much better.
just stop getting hit, it's that easy. I got to lvl7 mch and only time I died was when my rank 3 party tried ot solo the manta ray S rank.
Even though you can't level down, the fact that you can still be unavoidably penalized for someone else's mistakes is rather aggravating.
The penalty for actually dying is pretty small (to the point it seems pointless, unless it scales much more the higher rank you get) although the penalty for 'releasing' is much worse. Luckily people seem amicable enough at responding to 'rez please' markers on /sh.
